Milestone update

I haven't done an update on my milestones and what I'm up to lately so I thought I should do that. Also, Mom took some pictures of me this morning so I thought I'd share a few of those.

First of all I think I've made a potty training breakthrough! I'm still not 100% but Mom says I'm doing a MUCH better job than I have in the past. As of the last week or so I have been telling Mom and Dad when I have to go potty and yesterday Mom was in the basement getting something and when she came back up I had gone in and gone poopy all by myself. My undies were wet - I missed the first part but I did catch the second part so all in all she was pleased. Step by step she says. :) We're still working on it but making progress!

Mom and Dad both think I'm getting heavier but a couple weeks ago I had to go to the Dr. for a cold that wasn't going away after about 2 weeks. I had double ear infection - but they weighed me with all my clothes and shoes on and I weighed 27 pounds. So....not really getting too heavy. But I have gained about 3 pounds since my birthday last April - and that's the average so I guess I'm doing well.

Mom and Dad said I've gotten to be a better eater too. I always eat a good breakfast that usually consists of strawberry oatmeal and a banana, peanut butter bread and a banana or cinnamon french toast. Those are my favorite breakfasts! I am getting better about trying new foods all the time. I'm still somewhat limited as to what I'll eat but the list grows a little all the time. As I try to think of some things I eat now that I never used to I can't really think of much other than hot dogs and french toast but those are a couple things.

I keep busy playing with my trains on my train table, doing puzzles and playing with letters. I like to pretend I'm playing Wheel of Fortune with my refrigerator letters, or I pretend I'm Super Why with "The Power to Read". His show is one of my new favorites. Some new shows I like to watch are "Bubble Guppies", "Super Why", "Dinosaur Train", and "Jake and Neverland Pirates". I also still enjoy my old favorites of "Thomas and Friends", "Diego", and "Umi Zoomi".

Mom and Dad think I'm pretty funny. I like to say and do things to make them laugh and sometimes they have no idea where I come up with the things I do. I need to be better about sharing those things. One example, when I'm doing a puzzle with certain pieces, "that's kind of a tricky one". And "Ooooh myyyy gosh" or "Oh jeez!" Ok - maybe they do know where those came from but some they don't. :)

That's all I can think of right now, but if I think of more I'll add it.

Valentine's Day

I forgot to tell you about my Valentine's Day. I started off the morning with a heart shaped pancake Mom made for Dad and I. We both love pancakes. Then for lunch Mom made me heart shaped peanut butter sandwiches, heart shaped apple pieces and heart shaped cheese.

Mom and Dad gave me a remote control car for Valentine's Day. I have been having fun driving it around the basement. Can't wait for it to be nice enough to drive it outside.

Watch out Preschool - here I come!

That's right, this fall I'm going to preschool! Just for three hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays but Mom and I went to get registered yesterday and I thought it looked like a lot of fun! Before we got to registration Mom was a little apprehensive at the thought of me going to preschool, the time has gone so fast blah blah blah - but after she saw the place and all I will get to do she was feeling much better because like I said, it's only 3 hours 2 times a week and I am going to have a blast!

Happy Birthday, Marlie

On February 8, 2011 Marlie turned 5 and we had a little party at home to celebrate. I was very excited to hear it was her birthday - well because Birthdays always mean cake right? Mom hadn't really thought of making an cake for Marlie's birthday until she realized I wanted one - so she made a cake - more for me than Marlie since Marlie didn't really get any of it. But she did get a couple gifts, a new toy, a special chewey and a bag of treats. I think she had fun - I know I did!

Fun Day with Mom

Sometimes the winter days get kind of long so Mom was trying to come up with some things to make them a little more exciting. I had seen a cartoon with racing flags so I was really into that for the day so she made me some of my very own flags. I also was putting popcorn up to my ears and saying I was Shrek, so she thought she'd do better than popcorn and make me my very own Shrek ears. Then I wanted glasses like the conductor on Polar Express so she made me glasses - all of these things out of construction paper.

It wasn't long I tore the glasses and she had to fix them with tape but I didn't mind. Here are a few pictures from our fun.

Visitors

I've had a few visitors at our new house. First off on Saturday 1/29 Grandpa and Grandma Cota came down to visit and see our new house. They stayed for the afternoon and we played, and lunch and then it was ready for a nap! But it wasn't too long and Grandpa Cota came back again on 2/7. He had a Dr. appointment in Iowa City so he came and played after he was done and did some things for Mom with our new cabinets.

On 2/10 Brent and Kari came to visit and check out our new house. We all had dinner, played and I had fun playing with Uncle Dolly in the basement. We were practicing numbers.

On Valentine's Day Grandma Dahlstrom came to visit and hang out with Parker and I while our parents went to dinner with some friends. We kept Grandma busy but had fun!

On 2/20 we had Layla and her Mom and Dad come over to our house to play and have dinner. Layla likes to play with trains now too. We played but I was kind of preoccupied with puzzles so I wasn't a very good host that night. Sorry, Layla!

Can't wait for some more visitors! I love company and I'll try to be a better host next time.

We MOVED!

First thing is first. We moved into our new house on Wednesday, January 19. It was very smooth transition for me - well for all of us really. We spent that first night here and I slept great in my new room. It looks a lot like my old room so it didn't feel a whole lot different - and all of my toys came along so all is good.

It's been over a month since we moved and Mom says we're pretty much settled in. There are still some boxes and totes that need to be emptied but nothing we can't live without so they can wait.

One thing we are all anxious for (Marlie included) is to have grass. Since our house was finished in the winter they were unable to put sod down in our yard or pour the sidewalks and patio. Since the snow has all melted we are in the middle of giant mud pit. Definitely not a good situation for playing outside. Hopefully the nice weather will stick around and they can get out here sooner than later and get us sidewalks and grass.

Other than that - we're all loving the new place!

Here are some pictures of my new bedroom!

And here are a couple pictures of my toy room!

So much to catch up on!

I know we've been busy lately but I really have been slacking on writing about what we've up to. Wow! It's been over a month and a lot has happened! I'm going to do several entries today and try and get caught up!
