What a day...

Today the weather was so nice, and I had a great day. Daddy spent the day paintballing with Uncle Brent and a group of others, so Mommy, Marlie and I hung out all day. First, mommy and I went to Wal-Mart. My pediatrician called in a new prescription that will hopefully get rid of my oral thrush. I really hope it will work better for me and I can get rid of this white tongue. While at Wal-Mart I got a new toy that I am loving! You can see it in the picture. Mommy bought some flowers to plant outside, so when we got home I sat outside while mom did the planting. After all that I was hungry, so we took a break and came inside for me to eat.

Then mom, Marlie and I took a short walk. It was the first time we'd been out walking and mom is hoping she can master walking Marlie with the stroller. We didn't do too bad for our first time - but Marlie has a little more learning to do when it comes to walking along side the stroller. She did good though for it being the first time - at least she isn't scared of the stroller, she just wants to pull on her leash too much. She'll get it figured out. If she doesn't, she'll just have to stay home - which she won't like. After our walk, I played with my new toy. Mommy took some video of me but she can't get the video recorder to work with the laptop to get it on here, but she said she'd keep trying. Hopefully it will work, I really want to show you how my new toy works, and how I kick my little legs. I'm pretty worn out after my big day, so I'm going to go take a nap so I can spend time with daddy when he gets home.

I hope you had a nice day and were able to enjoy the great weather. It was perfect for a baby like me to be outside today!

Mover and a shaker....

and a bouncer...I'm really starting to move around a lot! I love to lay on the floor and kick, kick, kick my legs. I get those little things really moving, and my arms too! Sometimes when I wake up I like to just lay in my crib and kick around. I'm also getting more and more interested in watching what's around me. I still love to sit in my bouncy seat and watch the lights and listen to the music, but I can actually move enough to make the seat bounce now, which I think is a lot of fun. I am moving my mouth more and more and once in awhile I actually get a sound to come out. That's kind of exciting when that happens! =) I also like to lay on the floor and watch the lights and listen to the music of my toy that I can lay under. When I get my legs going it almost looks like I'm dancing to the music. Mommy took video of me and is hoping she can put a clip on here soon so you can see me in action.

Today we went to Wal-Mart and went and opened my savings account at Veridian. I guess that means I have to start saving my money now. Oh well, I don't really have anything I want to buy anyway. Everyone seems to spoil me with anything I want or need...I am such a lucky kid.

Well I guess I should get back to the bouncy seat. Have a good one!

Rain, rain, rain....

Such a rainy day like today doesn't leave much to do. So, we hung out at home. I fell asleep during tummy time and mommy took my picture. All those head lifts wear a little guy out. I took several naps today, hung out with mom, spent time in my swing and just laid around kicking my legs. I love doing that!

Tonight is bath night - that's always relaxing. It's like a baby spa. Hee hee!

It was another pretty quiet day around our house, so again, not much to report. Have a good one!

Back in the groove...

I guess we're back in the swing of things after our weekend away. I had a good day. We met daddy and a group of friends for lunch to celebrate Adri's birthday. That was fun - I was awake part of the time, but slept through most of it. This afternoon I had tummy time and enjoyed some time in my swing.

Mommy is still working on getting rid of the thrush in my mouth. If it's doesn't start to get better soon I am going to have to go back to the dr and maybe try some different medicine.

Nothing else to report from today. I hope you had a great day.

Weekend update...

Hello - Well, we had a pretty nice weekend. The weather was great for the parade so I got to go. I was a little fussy during part of it, but I was getting hungry, so can you really blame me? I got to wear my outfit mommy had all picked out for me for the parade and I looked pretty darn cute if I do say so myself!

My Grandpa is always part of the Memorial Day program
and he wears his uniform so we had to get our picture taken together. We both looked nice, don't you think?

I didn't get any candy at the parade but I did get a lot of attention!

Though mommy, daddy and I had a great weekend, we feel for all of those families who have been affected by the terrible storms. Especially mommy and daddy's friends, Mike and Megan & their kids. Mom and dad are keeping them in their thoughts and prayers. Please do the same.

So much to do...

Yesterday we went and celebrated my great-grandma Dahlstrom's 90th birthday. I got to meet a lot of new family members! I have a lot of cousins. After that mommy and I hung out in Harpers for awhile while daddy went fishing with Grandpa Dahlstrom, uncle Brent and Amy. Then we went to Grandpa Cota's house to see him for a little while.

This morning we got up and went to the pancake breakfast. I slept through most of it, but mommy and daddy ate, and then I got to meet more people, some family and friends. After we were there for awhile I got hungry again so we went back to Grandma's house to get me fed.

Daddy went mushroom hunting today and mommy and I hung out at Grandma's house most of the day. We'll see what tonight brings, and tomorrow is the big parade. Cross your fingers that it doesn't rain. I'd love to go to my first parade!

Travelin' man...

We made the trip to Harpers last night. I was a good little traveler and slept the whole way. I was content as we got settled in at Grandma's house, until it ws bed time. I just couldn't get comfortable and mom and dad couldn't figure out what the problem was. Finally around 1:00 I settled down after a clean diaper and a bottle. Once I settled down and fell soundly asleep, I slept for 5 hours. I was just HUNGRY I guess.

Today we have a busy day but I'll try and find time to write about it later. Have a great day - it's going to be nice outside!

Another day...

I've been a really good boy again today. I haven't been quite as hungry today as I was yesterday, but I'll be honest with you all, yesterday I was ridiculously hungry! Today I spent some time in my swing, took a few naps, spent some time snuggling with mommy and gearing up for our big weekend. This weekend I am taking my first trip to Harpers! I'm really excited about it and I think my Grandparents that live up there are too. We will be busy while we're there so I'll have to have mom and dad take lots of pictures of all the fun things we're going to do and I'll tell you all about it! I get to go to a parade on Monday as long as it's not raining...that sounds like fun!

XOXOX from the crib!

Out and about...

Well after a busy, busy day of eating and sleeping mommy, daddy and I went over to the Witliff's for supper. I just had another bottle, but mom, dad, and their friends, TJ, Paula, Eric, Marieda and Adri had yummy grilled food. It was fun to get out of the house and hang out for awhile. Tonight we're all sleepy, but daddy had to go to back to work. So, mommy and I are heading to bed to get some sleep before I think I need to eat again. Nighty night!

Mr. Independent...

Well, I did it! I slept in my crib, in my own room, all by myself. Mommy said since I was 1 month old yesterday that would be a good time to make the transition, so we did! I did a good job. I didn't even care that I wasn't sleeping next to mom and dad. I did look pretty tiny in that big bed though. Mom didn't think she'd have any problem with me moving to my own room either, she felt totally ok with it...until she went upstairs to get my jammies, and moved the basinett away from their bed, and the water works started. She knew it was silly, and she got over it quick, but she still got sad for a minute. Daddy said, "you're just moving 15 feet Cohen, what will she do when you go to college?" When it was time to put me in bed, mom was fine with it, she just had to have her moment I guess. =)

Today my Grandpa Cota was here. He was here to visit and also fixed our house. Before I was born a piece of fascia blew off our house, and he replaced it today. He is so helpful with that kind of stuff, and we love to get to spend time with him!

This morning when I mommy was getting me dressed for the day I was having fun just laying there kicking and moving my arms around, so she let me do that for a little while. It was a lot of fun.

Nothing else to report. So, from the crib, I'm signing off for now!

Life is an adventure...

Anyone who thinks it's easy to take a baby out and about needs to give mommy some tips. She woke up this morning and thought we should go to the mall.

So while I'm still sleeping she got up, took a shower. Just out of the shower I wake up, she gets dressed, gets me up, I get a fresh diaper and clean clothes for the day. Mom starts feeding me about 10:00. After I eat I do better if they hold me up right for 15 minutes so I don't "spill" - we did that, and dad claims if I don't fall asleep after I eat, my chances of "spilling" greatly increase. I didn't fall asleep, so mom was a little nervous to just let me hang out and held me a little longer. After awhile she put me in my seat and finished getting ready.

Marlie still needed to go outside to go potty, so she went out on her tie out while mommy got my diaper bag packed up. Then mom decided since she hadn't used the stroller yet she better make sure she knows how to fold/unfold etc...so a quick trial run with that...success! Now, my bag is packed, Marlie went potty, the stroller is loaded in the car, mom put me in my car seat, buckled me in....and realized she should probably have changed my diaper before we go. So...back out of the seat, get clean duds, back in the seat, all of this is really wearing me out, and I fell asleep as soon as I got buckled back in. Mom was worn out too, and we hadn't even gotten out the door yet! Oh, this was going to be a trip to remember!

We finally did get out the door and made it to mall about 1:00 (remember...we started at 10:00). I slept the whole time we were there, mom did a little shopping but didn't find much to buy (dad will be happy about that).

So...if anyone cares to argue that it's easy to take a baby somewhere, take that up with mommy, and be prepared to share your easy travel tips, because after today she's thinkin' it's easier to just stay home! =)

Thanks for reading about our crazy day! XOXOX

Oh - on another note, last night I ate at 9:00, stayed awake until midnight, mom and dad expected I'd wake up around 1:00 to eat, but I didn't wake up until 6:00! They couldn't believe it. I'm awesome! And, I think tonight is the night I move to my room. I'll let ya know how that goes!

Sleepy Sunday....

Didn't do much today. Just hung out with dad most of the day while mom worked on laundry and getting our house back in order. Tonight is bath night and I always enjoy that. That warm water feels so good just to sit in - it's getting out that I hate.

I've been sleeping in a bassinet in mommy and daddy's room, but I'll be moving to my crib in my own room very soon. Mom and dad have to get a couple things done before it's ready for me, not sure if it will happen tonight or not but I'll keep you posted on my big move! =)

Four Weeks Old...

Well, I am 4 weeks old today! Isn't that just crazy. Mommy feels like she missed out on a whole week of my life since she was sick - time goes too fast anyway and that didn't help. To celebrate... I threw up ALL over dad this morning. =) I mean, you wouldn't believe a little tiger like myself could throw up that much - but I did. We were both a mess but dad did a good job of keeping it all on us and not getting any on the chair. I wasn't even phased. I just sat there like no big deal afterward.

Mommy thought about taking me to the Marion Arts Festival today, but decided we should probably just stay home and work on getting our house cleaned up and laundry done. So - that's what we did. I bounced in my bouncy seat for awhile, hung out with daddy, and took several naps.

Of course I'm still cute as ever, but I'm getting some little pimples on my cheeks, and my forehead is really scaley. Mommy said it could be a little craddle cap on my forehead. The nurses told her I would probably get the pimples when my hormones start to balance out from what I had from her after being born. Neither are too bad, but hopefully both clear up quickly.

Not much else going on at our house today. Just resting and working on getting caught back up.
Hope you had a great Saturday! XOXOX - Cohen

Mom took a new pic of me but I puked shortly after, so she'll have to post it another time. Sorry!

Quick update....

I'm sorry I don't have much time to write. Things are still a little hectic around our house. Mommy still is fighting her bug, daddy is trying to juggle work and taking care of mommy and me, and Marlie is feeling neglected and acts naughty sometimes. It's a good thing I'm such an easy kid to take care of, or they'd really be in for it! We're all ready for mommy to be back to herself so everyone can get back on track with life around here. The parents are starting to get a little edgey. ; ) We're hoping the end is in sight! Thanks for reading!

What a weekend...

Well, our weekend went from crazy to crazier. Mommy thought she was getting better yesterday, but later in the afternoon she started feeling sick again, and her fever was back. She called the dr office and they said daddy needed to bring her in right away incase she had an infection from her c-section. So, daddy packed me up and we took mommy to the emergency room. They said it would be at least a few hours, they wanted to give her 2 liters of fluid and do some lab work. So, mommy sent daddy and I back home so I didn't have to hang out in the emergency room. They did blood work and took spinal fluid to test mommy for meningitis. Good news is she doesn't have an infection or meningitis, just a virus. I think she's starting to feel better today. Daddy stayed home from work today to take care of me, and mommy if she needed him. Hopefully our lives will get back to some sort of normal soon. Thanks for reading about our crazy lives.

I'd still appreciate any extra prayers that I don't catch mommy's virus. Thank you!

Happy Mother's Day...

To all of you mommies, I hope you have a very Happy Mother's Day. My mommy was sick with a stomach flu bug and fever yesterday. She's feeling better today, but still not 100%. She's really hoping that I don't get sick. So, we're not doing too much to celebrate mommy's first mother's day. Maybe we'll do something another day when she's feeling better. Daddy did a great job taking care of me while mommy rested. He's such a good daddy - mommy and I are lucky to have him.

Yesterday we had Grandpa & Grandma Dahlstrom and Brent & Amy at our house to celebrate Brent's birthday. Mommy was a party pooper since she wasn't feeling well, so I had to tell her all about the party. We grilled steaks and I got her an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for Mother's Day. I wish she could have joined the party but there is cake left, and they saved her a steak, so she'll try and have some later today.

That's all for now - if you could say an extra prayer that I don't catch the stomach bug I would appreciate it. Thank you!

Checkin' in...

Just thought I'd check in and give you a quick update. Not a whole lot going on at our house the past couple days. Grandma Dahlstrom worked really hard while she stayed at our house and got a lot of things done around our house that mommy and daddy don't have a lot of time to get done now. She was a big help while she was here.

Last night daddy put me to bed and I slept for 5 hours straight! Usually I sleep for 4 hours, so when mommy woke up and it had been 5 hours she jumped out of bed to make sure I was ok. I was just sleepin' away. I don't know what she was so worried about! Mommies just worry a lot I guess.

It's been such nice weather outside, mommy said we'll take the stroller on a short walk soon. She can't walk too far yet after her surgery, but is ready to get outside! Today we went to Wal-Mart. That was my first shopping trip. Mommy needed to get some groceries and I made sure she picked up formula for me. =) Tonight she took me outside for a little while and I met some of my neighbors. They sure think I'm cute...I must admit, I get that all the time! =) Ha! Ha!

Well daddy will be home from work soon, so I'm going to get ready to snuggle with him. We're celebrating uncle Brent's birthday this weekend and mommy's first mother's day, so I'll be sure to tell you all about that. Have a good weekend!

Out and about...

It was a night of firsts for me. Tonight was daddy's first softball game and I got to go. I didn't see much of the game because I was sleeping, but it was fun to go anyway. Then, after we got home and mommy, daddy and grandma had supper, we had to go to the basement because tornado sirens were going off in Marion. I had never even been down in our basement before!

Well, I need to get ready for bed and I'm kind of crabby so I better go.
Good night. XOXOX

Silly puppy...

My puppy Marlie is so silly. She was trying to get me to play with her and her stuffed bunny today. I wasn't sure what the heck I was supposed to do with it, but at least she is willing to share her toys with me. =)

Then, this afternoon when mommy was feeding me she snatched my pacifier. She still thinks she's the baby.

Today I went to the dr because I have a really white tongue. Mommy wanted to see if I had thrush or if it's formula stained. Turns out it's a little of both, so they gave me some medicne to take care of the thrush. I was a little stinker at the dr office. I didn't make it easy on mommy. I pooped in my diaper right before they wanted mommy to take it off to weigh me, then I was hungry so I screamed through most of the check. Once the dr was done and mommy could get me a bottle I was a happy little man. Good news is I'm gaining weight well, and I'm healthy.

Today was daddy's first day back at work. I missed having him home with us, and I know he missed me, but he has to work, and lucky for everyone he does enjoy his job. So, even though he loves to spend time with me, he was ready to get back to work. I can't wait for him to get home tonight though so we can snuggle!

Grandma Dahlstrom is staying with us some this week to help out mommy and daddy. She's already been a big help!

Well that's all for now....thanks for reading!
XOXOXO

Big weekend....

I had such a busy weekend! We celebrated my mommy's 30th birthday on Saturday. Some people say that she's over the hill, but I don't think my mommy is old. =)

Saturday afternoon mommy's friend Kati came to meet me. Then, Saturday night Grandma Dahlstrom, Great Aunt Peggy, Ashley and Matt came down to spend the night and visit me. Sunday, Grandpa, Grandma, and my Great Grandma Cota came down to visit. It's always fun to have family come and snuggle and spoil me. I'm lucky to have so many people that love me so much! I loved all the attention I got from everyone, and now I'm tired! I better go and rest up! XOXOX

Quick update...

Good news - my cord fell off last night! Mom was so happy about that. Now I have the cutest little belly button. =)

Last night I didn't really want to go to bed. I stayed up until 3:00 a.m. with daddy. He was ready for bed, but I thought I might miss out on something, so I stayed awake. Then, when he was changing me I peed all over and needed clean jammies. Mom got up to find me pjs and I had them on no more than 30 seconds and I spit up all over them. Isn't that funny! Mommy and daddy laughed - not because they really thought it was funny, but because it was almost - unbelieveable!! =) I was on a ROLL!! Good thing I went to sleep after I got clean jammies on - AGAIN. And slept for 4 hours, woke up to get clean unders, my tummy full and back to sleep for another 4 hours. I thought I better go easy on them after my earlier stunts I pulled.

That's all - XOXOX

Another day...

Well today was another busy day for us. I'm still being a very good boy for mom and dad, letting them get a good nights sleep.

Today I got to give my bouncy seat a try. I really, really like it. It has pretty blue lights and plays music and rain forest sounds. I had fun sitting in there, and hope I get to play in there again soon.

Oh - guess what! A few days ago mommy called the dr office because I hadn't gone poop for over a day. They told her to give me some milk of magnesia. So she gave me one dose for 2 days, and now daddy is teasing her because I've been having several poopy diapers. Ha! Ha! Dad says it's karma, because some how I always poop when it's mommy's turn to change me. Now mommy's going to wait before she gives me any more of that stuff, and see if my system got straightened out on its own. If not, I'll have to take some more, but I really don't like that stuff. I scrunch my face up and spit out a lot of it - it's nasty, but apparently it works. =)

Tonight is bath night for me again. Marlie got also got a bath this morning. So, as of right now mom and I are the only 2 who didn't get a bath yet today and we both need one.

Well that's all I have to share for today. I hope you had a good day! XOXOX
