Annual Pumpkin Farm Trip

We've gone every year since I was a baby and this year was no different. I was very excited to go this year and it was fun.

The only thing I didn't like was the Curtain Chaos. Well....it wasn't all bad but there was a loud noise that scared me and then clowns that I really didn't care for.

Otherwise we did all the regular fun; corn crib bin, tube slides, corn maze, jumping pillow, fed the animals, barrel train ride....

...and of course we had to see how much I'd grown over the last year.

Happy Birthday Blythe

Blythe turned two on the 10th. On her actual birthday we just spent the evening at home with her. I gave her my gift I got her and we had cake.

Mom had taken me shopping before her birthday so I could pick something out for her. I wasn't sure what I wanted to get her so I walked up and down the aisles at the store, and up and down again. I started to get some ideas but had to think about it and go back through the aisles.

I finally made a decision and I was very happy and confident with my choice of a Duplo Cinderella set for her. Turned out she was happy with my decision too. She liked the gift I gave her.

The day after her birthday we had her party with family. Our grandparents and aunt, uncle and cousins came to celebrate.

She was scared to open her presents so Marlie and I helped her out. It actually worked out well for all of us because I was really anxious to see what she got and Marlie loves to open presents. :)

The night of her party we invited our neighbors over to celebrate. Holtans weren't able to come but Reznicows could. Andrea and I had a fun time being silly and playing together.

Homecoming Parade

We had Homecoming a couple weeks ago and we all went to the parade. This year Mom was the one in charge of the float for my school. I wasn't sure if I wanted to walk or watch the parade but at the last minute I decided to walk with Mom in the parade.

It was fun handing out treats and walking in the parade and we had a pretty fun float that was a circus theme.

Weekend in Harpers

At the end of September we spent a weekend in Harpers visiting family. I got to spend the night at Grandpa and Grandma C.'s house and Blythe spent the night at Granny's house with Mom and Dad.

The next day we had a busy day. Grandpa and I took the 4 wheeler over to the farm and Mom, Dad and Blythe met us there. I had fun climbing up on Uncle Ron's combine, playing with balloons and seeing the kitties outside.

From there we went to Waukon and had lunch with Mom and Dad's friend and her boy, Hudson.

Then we headed to Great Grandma D's place. We hadn't been to her new place since she moved. It was fun to see her and her cat CeeCee. I love her cat. She had a cool toy gun she let me play with too.

CeeCee and Me
After our visit with her we headed back to Granny's house for awhile and a trip to the park before we went back to the farm since we missed Great Grandma the first time.

After we left there and had dinner at Granny's we headed out and visited Great Grandpa and Grandma J.'s house for a little while before we hit the road for home.

It was a busy, full day but we got to see so many people we love.

Stride for Pride

At school we do a fundraiser walk called Stride for Pride. This year Mom was one of the three who helped plan it. They did added some obstacles for us to do this year and it was a lot of fun! Mom was there all day so she took some pictures while my class was out.

This was "crossing the Nile" in Egypt.

This was hopping like kangaroos in Australia.

This was crawling through the Amazon Jungle.

This was running with the bulls in Spain.

Super Heroes

I have several super hero costumes that I dress up in a lot, almost daily and because I like super heroes Blythe knows about them too. She likes to pretend to be one but Mom found one that someone was selling in her size so she got it for her. She had a lot of fun dressing up with me.

First Day of School

My first day of first grade was August 18. My teacher this year is Mrs. Merrill. We started the year with 28 students in three classes but they hired a new teacher and added a fourth class so now there are 20 in my class.

Some students had to move to the new class but I was able stay in my class with Mrs. Merrill.

Snow Cone Truck

We're used to having the ice cream truck come through our neighborhood but this summer a snow cone truck started coming through. It was pretty fun to make your own snow cone.

Mom snapped a few pictures of me and my neighbor friends as we were getting snow cones one evening before school started.

Oh....and it was the first time the had ever served a snow cone to Iron Man. :)

Picky?

Today Mom was telling me I was picky. I disagreed. She gave a few examples of ways I'm picky;my peanut butter bread has to be cut a certain way, I only eat a certain kind of mac and cheese, I won't sleep under the covers.... I told her, "I'm not picky about everything though. I don't care how the house is built."

I think she got the point.

Sleepover with Reese

I forgot to share about when Reese slept over with Grandma at our house. It was her first time coming to stay at our house and we all had fun. We don't get to play and see each other that often so it was fun to play with her and have her here.

Family Vacation

The last week in July we took a family vacation to Minneapolis. We spent a couple nights up there and had a lot of fun. We stayed in an awesome hotel that has a big indoor water park. I was a little unsure about all of it at first but it didn't take me long to warm up to it and pretty soon I was going down water slides, jumping in the wave pool and barreling through sprinklers.

We also make a couple trips over to the Mall of America which of course included the Lego Store as well as meeting some of the Ninja Turtles. Mom thought I'd be all excited about the TMNT but to be honest I was a little nervous. I thought their eyes were freaky. I felt more comfortable having Dad go with me to meet them.
We had lunch at The Rainforest Cafe again. I got to pick and I picked that so Blythe could see it. She had never been there.

We spent a lot of time in the water park. Emily S. came to join us for dinner and some water time one night too.

I loved that our hotel had bunk beds. I called them the "double decker couch" like they do in the Lego Movie. I chose to sleep on the top bunk and it was awesome!

Even Mom joined in on the water fun. It was a lot of fun having the whole family playing together in the water and having fun together. Mom was going to down water slides which she said she hadn't done in at least 20 years! Twenty years....? That's a loooong time!

There was a big bucket that would dump water ever so often. I did my best to avoid it. I'd was careful to watch it and when it was getting close to tipping I'd make sure I was in a safe spot where it wouldn't get me. Mom loved letting it dump on her though and she tried to get me to stand with her but I wouldn't.

We also visited the Minnesota Children's Museum. We went there last summer too but they had some different things than last year and it was fun. Blythe and I both liked the water/bubble area and I LOVED the warehouse part. They have one area where you can pretend to work in a warehouse moving blocks up and down an elevator, moving them across a belt, putting them on and off a truck to the shipping and receiving area. It is just so much fun! It was definitely my favorite.

We all had a great trip!

The first and smallest slide I was willing to try.

Moved on to a bigger slide.

LOVING the water slides!

Mom took this one from the balcony of our hotel room.
