You know how I've talked about my yucky tongue...being white, then the white turned to a nasty yellowish color and my Dr. kept saying he didn't think it was thrush and it would clear. Well...he's no dummy! Mom thought it looked MUCH better today, but could still see a little of the yucky. She got me to let her take a closer look, and yup....it's almost completely gone. My tongue really is pink! It's been yucky since I was 2 weeks old.
After mom saw it was clearing she took one of my baby spoons and kind of scraped the last little spot and it was just coming off right on the spoon. She stopped doing that though because what's left is so far back it was making me gag. But....we think it will be completely clear very soon! Yea!!!!
She knows it was still really coated Sunday because Grandpa was teasing me about how it looked yucky...so just this week sometime it magically started to clear up.
Ok, that's our excitement for the day. Thanks for reading!

Hangin' out at DTI...
Today Mom and I went to Cedar Falls again. Mommy had to learn some new stuff for her work, so I got to hang out with everyone at DTI. I was a little cranky because I was tired. Before I took my nap though I got to watch the Cubbies, play with Grace and hang out with Uncle Brent. We're pretty good buddies you know. I really liked watching his doggy Grace again. She liked me too I think.
Oh, and last night, Mom and I went to watch Daddy play softball. His team won their first game so they had to play again, but it was going to be too late for me so we had to go home. Turned out they lost their last game, I think it was because I wasn't there to cheer for them.I'm pretty tired tonight. I didn't nap as much as I usually do today, so it's time for bed.
This is me from last night when we got home from Daddy's game. I told you I was tired!

I'm rollin'
Yesterday morning when Daddy came in my room to check on me he said he found me laying on my tummy. When they put me to bed the night before they put me on my back, so sometime in the night I rolled over from my back to my belly! I did it last night too. The two mornings before this they found me laying on my side, so they figured it wouldn't be too much longer. What's funny is they haven't seen me do it yet, I'm sneaky and just do it while they are sleeping. =Last night we all played outside for awhile. Daddy was grilling, Marlie was roaming the yard and mommy and I sat on the deck and in the yard. It was such a nice night outside - mom thought it must have been too chilly for the bugs to be out. That's usually why I can't stay out too long the mosquitoes start biting. But they were no where to be found last night so we could have outside fun longer! I hope we can do it again tonight. Maybe we could even walk up to the park! I think I saw they have a swing for babies there! That would be fun! I'll let you know if we do that!

A great day...
Today we had a great day! I told you we were going to Uncle Brent's house. Well we went and it was fun. I got to see Grandpa and Grandma, and Uncle Brent of course! We hung out there all day. It was so much fun I didn't even want to nap. I did nap in the swing while the grown ups ate lunch, and I thought I better take another nap later in the afternoon, otherwise I get crabby. I had fun watching Marlie and Brent's dog, Grace wander around trying to take rawhides from each other. They were funny.I slept all the way home. Marlie and I both did - we were whipped!
When we got home Daddy read one of my favorite books, "My Friends All Call Me Cy".

Tonight I'll get my bath, and I think I'll turn in early.
I hope you had a great weekend!
Love,
Cohen

Simply Saturday...
Today we didn't do much. Mom, Dad, Marlie and I stayed home most of the day. Well...Marlie and I stayed home all day. Mom and Dad each left (at different times of course) to go do something. It's been a pretty routine day for me. Eat, play, sleep, eat, play, sleep...it repeats itself several times throughout the day.
How do you like the new look of my blog? I like to switch it up about every month. I move into a new phase of my little life, and my blog moves right along with me. Summer is about over so I thought I'd make it a little bright and fun before the season changes. I'm kind of excited to get to find out what fall is all about. I hear things go from green to many pretty colors. Mom says winter isn't much fun, especially if it's like the one they had last year. I didn't mind that one since I was still nice and comfy in the belly, but this year might be a different story. And when I'm older, I hear the snow can be fun to play in! Enough about fall and winter, since I don't really even know what they are yet. =)
Tomorrow we're heading to my uncle Brent's house! I am excited to see him and my Grandpa and Grandma too! I haven't seen them for awhile. It should be a really fun day and I'll have to tell you all about it afterward. I love getting in the car and going places. I get to see new things, hear new sounds and smell new smells. When you're as new as I am there are many things to explore!
Well, I'm almost ready for a catnap so I guess I'll sign off for now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Ooops....4 months!
Amidst all the picture excitement yesterday I forgot to mention that I turned 4 months old! Mom did take the car seat picture...here it is.This month I rolled over from my tummy to my back, very close to going the other way but haven't yet, learned to push up on my arms while laying on my tummy, try to sit up while lying down or in my bouncy seat (it looks like I'm doing crunches). I found my feet and love to reach for them, I know where my hands are too - they spend a lot of time in my mouth. Recently I started to eat cereal, I'm still sleeping 10-12 hours straight through the night, nap about 4 hours during the day; 30-45 minutes each and then one longer nap in the afternoon. I'm a very good boy about putting myself to sleep once mom or dad lays me down - both for a nap and for bedtime. I usually eat 6 times a day; 3-6 oz at a time, I love to watch my dog Marlie do whatever she does, I love, love, LOVE when people talk to me - it makes me smile really big, and make some sort of a laughing sound. It's more like a hu, hu...huuuuuuuuh. One day I really did giggle at Marlie, but just the once. Mom's looking forward to me doing that more. I love to lay on daddy's lap with my head on his knees and my feet on his chest while he talks to me, smells my toes and tells me how stinky they are. I really don't think they stink, but it makes me happy. I still love my bath, I love when I get my head washed (I'd say hair...but.....well, you know). Anyway, I love it when I get my head rubbed with the washcloth, it makes me close my eyes it feels so good. I love to be naked...with a diaper is ok, but no diaper, as dangerous as it is....it is FUN! I really kick when I'm free as a bird. It doesn't last long because...like I said, it's dangerous. =)
That's the last month in a nutshell. I'm looking forward to this month and all I will learn and accomplish. Mom and Dad say it seems like I want to do so much more I just can't right now because I'm too little. My mind is telling me do this, do this, but my little body can't yet. Once I get it all figured out there will be no stopping me!

Pictures - take 2
So I had to go get my pictures taken - AGAIN! I guess I was a pretty good boy. Mom thought the photographer was much, much, MUCH better with me than the last one, and she's happier with the pictures. I still didn't give out any smiles while they were trying to take my picture, but once they were done and I was out of that room - I was all cheesy grins.
Since my dr told mom to get me out and about so I can see other people besides her mug all day, we've been on the go! Mall yesterday, pizza place last night, mall again today for pictures...whew, I'm about whipped and mom said she needs to get some work done or she'll get fired. =)
Here's a few pictures from today - I'm such a cool dude!

Toodlin' around town....
This afternoon mom and I headed out and about for a little while. We went to the mall first. Since I'm getting my pictures retaken tomorrow she is trying to figure out what I'm going to wear....again! I guess I have "a really cute pair of khaki pants" - her words...NOT MINE, that I could wear, but they have read stitching and something red printed on the side pocket, so she was trying to find me a red shirt to wear. Well, we looked and looked and finding a red shirt for a little guy is a tough job. We never did find one. We also went to TJ Maxx, Old Navy and Kohls.
I was a really good boy the whole time we were out. I just enjoyed watching everything around me. Once we got home I was ready for a bottle and a nap though.
Mom told me that today is a special day to her and daddy. One year ago today they found out they were going to have me. I bet they knew their baby would be wonderful...but I know they couldn't have imagined I'd be this wonderful....right!?! I mean come on, I'm more than they every could have dreamed of. I heard mommy say to daddy that it seems so crazy that it's been one year since they found out - time just flies.

What a weekend....
It's been a pretty good weekend. Saturday I spent most of the day at home, hanging out with Mom and Dad. We went to Wal-Mart in the afternoon and a birthday party for Paula in the evening. There were so many girls there who were flirting with me...well, maybe I was flirting with them. =)
My buddy Parker showed up while I was napping, but I woke up and got to see him and we got a new picture taken with our daddies. Our first one was taken when I was 2 days old and Parker was 8 days old. Now we're 4 months old and our mommies can't believe it.

Today we're just hanging out at home. We might do something later - maybe take Marlie for a walk or something.
I get my pictures re-taken at Sears on Tuesday. Since mommy was unhappy with them they said they would re-take them. She's hoping I'll cooperate. =)
Well I need a nap. Later -

Cereal - Take 1
I had my first taste of cereal tonight. Actually it tasted a lot like formula because that's what mom mixed it with. It was an adventure. I don't know who had more fun - me or mom. I didn't do too bad for my first try. I made a few funny faces when I tasted it, I spit some of it out, but I did swallow some, and after a few bites I'd open my mouth as the spoon came towards me. I think I'll keep working at it and before long I'll have the hang of it.
Dad video taped me too. Mom and Dad tried to get the video camera to work with our computer again, but still no luck. If it would work they would post a video....BUMMER! Here are a few pictures.

I'm ba-ack....
From my 4 month check-up that is...and I'm a healthy 4 month old baby boy. My Dr. was very pleased with my development. I weighed 13 lbs 9 oz (25 %ile), am 25 inches long (50%ile) and my head is 41 1/2 cm (25-50%ile - not sure what that's about). Anyway, I'm kind of a munchkin. But - mommy has told me not to grow too fast, so I'm trying to be good and do what she tells me. And, this goes to show that my head isn't as big as mom says it is! =) She's always saying what a huge noggin I have. I really don't - it's average.
I had to get 3 shots again, as well as an oral vaccination. Mom said I did a great job. I cried for a very short time afterward, but then was fine. Mom gave me some Tylenol before we went this morning so hopefully that will help me. Last time I just had a little fever afterward.
My tongue is still white/yellowish - my dr. said he still thinks it's just coated from formula. Mom and dad give me small drink of water after I eat now to rinse my mouth. They just started doing that and he thinks that may help. My cranky attitude....well, he said he sees no medical reason why I'd be this way. I look healthy all around...doesn't look like I'm getting teeth at all. He said he thinks it's that I know what I want and I know how to get it. Hee hee....I think he's a pretty smart fella, but I wish he wouldn't have told mommy this. Although, Mom and Dad don't run to me every second I cry...I don't like it, but they do let me deal with a lot of things myself. They'll probably figure out soon enough that I'm smarter than they give me credit for and I'm just playin' 'em like a fiddle! Then, my friends...my gig will be up and I'll have to start being a nicer boy.
He also said mommy and daddy can start giving me rice cereal once a day. Mostly just to teach me how to eat from a spoon and swallow something other than formula. Then, when I'm 6 months old I can start eating baby food. This was a lot of information for a little boy like me to remember, but with mommy's help, I think I've reported it all.
I'm not quite 4 months old yet, but very soon. I'm sure mom will take the 4 month car seat picture and I'll post it for you all to see my handsome self. Ha ha! Alright, those shots wore me out, time for a snooze.
Have a great weekend and I'll let you know how my first cereal eating goes.
Love,
Cohen

Don't bother me...
I'm grumpy! I've been a sleepy, cranky, small little man. If I'm not sleeping, I'm eating and if I'm not eating I'm complaining about something...most of the time. For a few short periods during the day I try to be happy playing so mom doesn't ship me off, but I have been doing a lot of sleeping. I have my 4 month check up on Friday and mom said she and my Dr. are going to talk about it.
Mom says she still loves me and is so thankful for me, but I need to start being the happy, content little boy she has come to know.
On a better note, mom and I went to a garage sale this afternoon. They advertised "lots of boys clothes 0-24 months". We went to check it out and we hit the jackpot! Mom bought me a bunch of clothes, mostly for fall/winter and next summer. I did get a hat and one outfit for now. Oh, and she got me an Old Navy winter coat. She said everything is in really great condition - all Gap, Old Navy, Children's Place, Ralph Lauren, Nike, Oshkosh, Gymboree. Nice stuff and she bought a lot!
Tonight mom, Marlie and I went for a walk. I did enjoy being outside. Well, I'm about to get grouchy again, so I better go before I tell you all off and say something I'll regret later!

Where's Cohen.....
Hello loyal readers! I thought I'd give you an update on my weekend. Well, I've been in kind of a funk the past few days. Just a little crankier than usual, not quite as content, and just not myself. I haven't been completely unbearable, but since I'm normally such a content little person, when I have an 'off day' it's very noticeable. The past few days I spent a lot of time eating and sleeping. I would play a little, and whine more than usual. I've still been sleeping like a champ at night though, so no matter what the days bring, as long as mom and dad can sleep at night, they can handle it. Today I think I'm feeling a little more like myself. Not quite so grumpy, so hopefully the end is in sight. I heard mom say it could just be a growth spurt, or that it's possible I could be starting to get teeth. I guess I don't know which it is, or if it's either one, I just know I haven't felt like myself.
Dad and I have been watching a little bit of the Olympics. They don't let me watch much tv, but I try and sneak it in when I can. =)
I guess we're planning on going for a family walk this evening, and I get a bath tonight. I hope you had a good weekend! (And that the new week will bring more content days for me)
XOXOX~

Already a big day....
It's hardly 10:00 and I've already had a huge day! I propped myself up on my arms...head straight up and laid there watching my toy for several minutes before....I ROLLED OVER! I have been very close to rolling back to belly, but today I went belly to back for the first time. Mommy got to see me, but she was just going to get the camera to get me laying all propped up and I did it before she could catch me. I'll have to do it again for daddy when he gets home. I don't think much more should be expected of me today...this day has been labeled a success!
I should give you a quick report of my early bedtime last night. Well...I thought I'd show them. If my bedtime is getting moved up, so is my cranky time. Around 7:00 I started to get whiney and fussy...into a full blown fit. Mommy calmed me down and I fell asleep for my cat nap before I was up for my bath. I have a routine and they aren't to mess with it. I'm going to cry, I'm going to nap, I'm going to wake up happy before I'm ready for bed for the night. Why can't they just understand that? Parents just don't understand I guess. We'll see what they do with me tonight. =)

Bedtime?
Yesterday was such a busy day! We met a group for lunch at Red Robin to celebrate Paula's birthday, went to Wal-Mart to get the car fixed because they messed something up with the oil change last week, stopped at the post office, back home for a bit, then off again for another trip to the post office and pick Marlie up from doggy daycare. Whew! I was busy and didn't have much time for a good solid nap. I'd catch a few zzzzs in the car but nothing too restful. Needless to say last night I was Crankenstein! Usually I go to bed between 9:00 and 10:00. Last night it was 8:15. Mom said, "that's it, jammies, bottle and bed for you Mr." I wasn't arguing! I was out for 12 straight hours! I woke up this morning at 8:15 refreshed! But, of course I needed my morning snooze, so about an hour later I clonked out again.
That got mom and dad thinking. Every night between 8:00 and 8:30 I turn into grump. I take a cat nap (about 20 minutes) and I'm up for about half an hour playing before I'm ready for bed. Well....they're hoping to avoid the grumpy time and trying to have bedtime be more around 8 ish. That means I miss out on a portion of my night, but I also miss out on my crying fit, which I'm ok with...and they are too!
I guess we'll just see how it goes, but you know I'll keep you posted! Have a great day!

Weekend away...
I had a really fun weekend. Mommy and I got to spend time with so many people! I'm a really lucky boy to have so many people who love me.This is a picture of me and my great-grandma Jones. She thinks I'm going to be a fast runner...I think she's right!! =)
On Saturday we went to a place where everyone ate pizza...except me of course! I had fun just looking around at all the things on the walls and watching the people there.

Sunday we did go to the church festival but I didn't play any games. I just took a nap while mom and Grandpa ate dinner. Both mom and I had a good weekend, but we were very happy to get home to see daddy and Marlie. We missed them.
I hope you had a good weekend and got to enjoy the warm, sunny weather!

Whoa....where did the week go?
Gosh, I'm kind of slacking. I haven't written since Monday? To all you loyal 'Cohen's Crib Notes" readers...I'm sorry! Let's see....last week we didn't do too much. I went with Mom and Dad to a meeting about my baptism, Daddy came home from work early on Thursday so Mom could get a hair cut and yesterday Mommy and I left to come to Harpers.
It was my Grandpa Cota's birthday yesterday and we wanted to celebrate with him. But, before we did that, we hung out at my Grandma's house most of the day, and then I got to meet mommy's friend Jami. She came to visit me at Grandma's. She's silly....but I like her! =) Jami and Mom took me and we had dinner at a place Mommy used to work. She said she worked there when she was my age, but I think she was just teasing me. I'm not ready to work at this age! I was just a busy guy yesterday, because after dinner Mom and I went to softball games. There I saw a lot of people, including birthday Grandpa and Grandma Mary Kate! I was flashing my gummy grin everywhere...my Grandma says... I'm "a little charmer". I don't know, that must be something I must have learned from my uncle Brent. =)
I'm not sure what the rest of the weekend has in store for me, but mom said something about lunch with Jami and LeAnne...and that I'd get to see my buddy Max! We hope to see my Great Grandpas and Grandmas, And, tomorrow there is a festival at Grandpa and Grandma's church. I think we might go there for a little while. Mom said there are games and prizes. I don't understand all that, but I guess I'll see what it's all about! =)
Thanks for checkin' in on me!
