New wheels!

I got a new bike! I had a little bike I got from Dewey and Danette's family for my first birthday and I had a lot of fun riding it but I got too big for it. I have really been into riding my bike lately but it was getting a little difficult to ride a bike that was too small for me. My friend, Parker was nice let me ride his bike sometimes but Mom and Dad decided it was time for me to get a bike of my own that I could ride. On Sunday we went and picked one out that is just my size. Mom was surprised how big of a bike I was really able to fit on. She thinks I look like such a big boy riding it, but....I AM a big boy so you'll have that.

Mom and Dad said I do such a good job riding it. I also got a new helmet to coordinate with it. I'm stylin'!

Bowling.....CHECK

Yes, I've been bowling a couple times before but it was still something we wanted to do on our Summer Fun List so Saturday night us and the Holtan's went bowling! Parker and I had fun! His uncle Thomas was staying with them so he came along too.

Our second bowling game was getting a bit long so Parker and I decided to shake up with a little dancing. :)

On the cob...

Usually when we are having corn on the cob I want my corn cut off the cob. Not this time. I graduated into the "on the cob" club. :) Mom was so excited about my first time eating corn on the cob. I think it's because corn season was always a big deal when she was a kid. Growing it, picking it and of course eating it.

4th of July

On Sunday we headed up to Harpers so we could watch the fireworks there. Grandpa Cota was up on the hill lighting them off again - like he does every year. We went to his house and watched them with Grandma Cota, Great Grandma Cota and some of my cousins.

It was really fun because this year Mom and Dad let me do sparklers. I LOVED them and they said I did a good job having fun but being careful with them. I even was brave enough to light my own sparkler. Kenzie, Chelsea, Carson, Brinley, Bailey and I had a lot of fun with them!

On Sunday we got ready and went to Peggy and Curt's house in Eitzen to watch the parade. I didn't make it through the entire parade - it's a REALLY long parade and it was hot. I did get some candy though. And had fun decorating the bucket Peggy gave me. I used it to put my candy in. After the parade I played in her daycare room - I love playing down there with all of the toys. There were a lot of other kids there too for me to play with.

After the parade Danette came to see if I wanted to go on the train ride. She, Bailey, Brinley, Grandma D, Mom, Dad and I walked down and Brinley and I got to go for a little ride on the train. I thought it was soooo fun!!

After a long afternoon I was getting tired so Mom, Dad and I headed back to Harpers and packed up to go home.

We had a great weekend! Here are some more pictures from it!

Fun Saturday

We had a great day on Saturday. We all slept in and then went to the Farmer's Market downtown Cedar Rapids. It was the first time Dad and I had been there. I enjoyed watching all of the people and dogs.

That afternoon I was invited to my buddy, Tristan's birthday party. Parker was also invited and went. Our daddies play softball together and when we go to the games we get to play together too.

His party was a lot of fun. They had a REALLY BIG slip and slide made with a tarp and sprinkler. They also have a really big swimming pool we got to swim in.

I was a little bit nervous about the big pool and held on pretty tightly to Daddy.

Saturday night we were invited to a cookout and fireworks and our friends, Dan and Mary Kay's. We all had fun there. There were a lot of kids for me to play with and a lot of Mom and Dad's friends there too. And we got to see some fireworks!

Catch Fireflies - Check

Friday night after playing in the pool and on the slip and slide Parker, Ethan and I (with our parents) went out catching fireflies. It's one more thing we have on our summer fun list that I can check off. It was so much fun! Daddy helped me catch four of them.

While we were catching fireflies a big frog hopped up on to Holtan's driveway. We thought that was pretty cool! Daddy picked it up to show us.

Slip and slide - Check!

We finally got to get the slip and slide out last night. I have been asking and Dad has been saying, "in a couple weeks". We had to wait until 1. it was hot enough and 2. it was OK to use on our new sodded lawn. Last night was the night and it was soooo much fun!

Parker and Andrea came over and played on it too. We can't wait to do it again!

Movie in a Theather - Check

Another thing off our summer fun list...we went to a movie at the theater. It was my very first movie at a theater and Mom and Dad thought I did a pretty good job! I did a pretty good job sitting through the movie - and the fact that we got popcorn helped. :)

We went to see Cars 2. I have been so excited about seeing it since I started seeing all the commercials for it.

Mom and Dad thought the trailers at the beginning were really, really long - especially for little kids to have to sit through. About 20 minutes before the movie was over I started getting antsy but we only had to take one potty break and one trip to the concession stand so all in all - SUCCESS!!!

I did hear Mom and Dad say it would be at least 6 months before we go to another one though. By then I should be ready to sit a little longer....maybe. :)

Weekend away...

I told y0u Marlie and I were staying with Grandpa and Grandma...well we had a lot of fun! On Thursday night we spent the night at their house. Friday I hung out with Emily for a while until she had class. Then I got to go to work with Grandpa at DTI. I always have fun there...especially in the boxing ring! I also got to play with the dog, Zoey. (her mom and dad work there)

After hanging out at DTI for awhile I went back to Grandpa and Grandma's house before Grandma and I went to Uncle Dolly and Kari's house to play with Reese. I was having fun playing pool and playing with Reese. I would squeak her toy for her and she would smile. It was fun!

Saturday Grandma, Marlie and I headed back to our house. It was fun at Grandma and Grandpa's but I was ready to play with my toys again and Mars was ready to sleep in her own house.

Sunday Grandma and I went to church and when we got back home Mom and Dad were home. They surprised me with some boxing gloves. I was so excited!

We all had a great weekend!
