We've been working on my "L" sound words since I tend to make a "W" sounds in L-words. Like "wisten/listen, wion/lion, wong/long" you get the picture. So Mom and Dad have been having me practice the el, lalalala, el sound. When I say an L-word correctly they say "very good." Well yesterday I said, "Mommy, can you say lllllll-long jump?" Mommy said 'long jump' I said, can you say, Bus?" Mommy said, "Bus" and I said, "VERY GOOD!" :)
Yesterday I was napping and Mom was meeting in the back yard with the guys who are going to pour some concrete for us. Well while she was out there I woke up and went potty. I headed down stairs and was standing at the glass patio door in nothing but my t-shirt. Mommy was a little embarrassed but I didn't mind. The two guys thought it was kind of funny.

Road Rage....
This morning Mommy and I were driving in Cedar Rapids and we were at a green light. There were two cars ahead of us all going to turn left. The light was green but there was a car coming straight from the opposite direction. I don't know all the rules of the road yet. I just saw it was a green light and those cars weren't going. I said under my breath, "Come on cars it's green." Mommy couldn't help but giggle. :)

To Infinity....

....and Beyond! I LOVE Toy Story! I love playing with Buzz and Woody so when Grandma D. saw a Buzz costume at garage sale she just had to get it for me. We picked it up when we were in Cedar Falls on Wednesday. I really like it but being the detail oriented kid that I am I seek out every little thing that is different than how the 'real' Buzz is. One thing that makes me crazy is that the boots don't have bottoms on them. I try and try to fold them over and say, "not wike dis!" Another thing is even though the wings are exactly the same on both sides except one side has velcro to attach to the costume I think they should got the other way. And last but not least, I think that the wings are just one wing. I insist there should be another one. When I'm wearing it I spend most of my time looking in the mirror looking everything over. Sometimes I get so upset about the things "THAT'S NOT RIGHT!" that Mom and Dad make me take it off. It's a love/hate relationship with it. :) I'm sure I'll have fun with it though.
Freaking out about the boots not having bottoms. Seriously! :)

Daddy and I are famous
On Wednesday May, 11 Mom, Dad and I went to the Cyclone Tailgate at the US Cellular Center. It was so much fun. I got to play on the inflatable slide, see Cy and get a Cy "ta-ta-too". :)At the end of the event they gave every kid an ISU Football Jersey. That was pretty cool! Mine is big for me but that's ok. I'll grow into it!

I was a little nervous around Cy this year. I didn't want to get down or give him high five or knuckles. I just wanted to look at him. While I was seeing him a guy from the news paper was taking my and Daddy's picture. It ended up being in the paper on Sunday.
I'm a cousin!
On Tuesday, May, 17 my little cousin, Reese Jane Dahlstrom was born at 10:05 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds 14 oz and was 19 3/4" long. That is very close to the size I was when I was born. I was 7 lbs 3 oz and 19 3/4" long. On Wednesday Mom, Dad and I got up and headed to the hospital in Waterloo to visit Uncle Dolly, Kari and meet baby Reese. I have to be honest - I was more excited about seeing Uncle Dolly and going on the elevator but it was fun to see Reese and Mom and Dad were very excited to meet her.
After we left the hospital I fell right asleep in the car. When I woke up we were at Uncle Dolly's DTI office. When we got inside I saw the coolest thing! I real boxing ring! I got to go in it and box. I even got to wear boxing gloves and head gear. I boxed Daddy, Grandpa D. and Jackson Hansen. It was so much fun.
After boxing I got to play table tennis there. Dad was pretty impressed with my ability to play. He thought if I had a little platform so I could see and reach better it would help but I did alright.
From there we stopped to visit Grandma D. at work before we headed back home. It was a great day!

Wise Guy?
Yesterday Mom and I were bowling so I had my bowling games out. There were pins laying everywhere. When Dad came home he was walking over the pins and said, "Was there a lot of serious bowling going on here today?" I immediately replied, "Oh, wise guy, eh?" Mom and Dad thought that was so funny and had NO IDEA where I came up with it or how I knew to use it in the right context. Mom asked what that was from and I told them my "Leap Frog game".

3 year check up...
I had my three year check up with my Dr. today. I was a very good boy and all in all he said I'm a healthy, but skinny kid. :)
My Height was 37.3" which puts me in the 45th percentile for height and 28.4 pounds, which puts me in the 15th percentile for weight.
Everything checked out fine and for the first time they took my blood pressure. I was a good boy and sat still through that too.
I have a little light brown spot on my jawline on the left side that Mom had him look at. He said it's a café au lait spot. I only have the one spot so he said that's nothing to worry about. He said if I have more than four that it could be an indication of neurofibromatosis. Which is a neurological disorder than can cause benign tumors to grow along the nervous system. But he was absolutely not concerned by the one spot on my face. If numerous spots started to appear then he would want to check me out a little closer but for now all is well.
Here's a little summary of what I'm up to these days - now that I'm three!
I usually wake up around 8:00. Mom and Dad don't put the gate at my door anymore and I have been a very good boy about staying in my room. In the morning when I wake up I either go in their room or go in the toy room and start playing.
For breakfast I like to eat peanut butter bread, strawberry oatmeal, 'cinnamon sticks' which Mom makes and she says it's just cinnamon french toast cut up. I also LOVE pancakes and recently have started eating cinnamon toast. I really like that too.
I spend a lot of my time playing with my trains, race cars, Buzz and Woody toys from Toy Story or playing Kinect Sports on the Kinect for the Xbox 360. I love playing track and field on there where I play the long jump, throw a virtual shot put and discus, and run. I also like to play the bowling game, table tennis and LOVE to play the boxing game. I'm always pretending to box. I climb up in my toddler bed like it's a boxing ring, put my arms in the air and jump in before I start moving my little arms as fast as I can - pretending to box.
Now that it's getting nicer out I am loving playing outside too. I like to 'race' up and down our driveway or sidewalks. I crouch down and say, "On your marks, get set, GO"
Shows I like watching right now are still Thomas, Diego, Dora, Team Umizoomi, Bubble Guppies, Super Why and Dinosaur Train. Movies I really like watching are Cars, Toy Story 1, 2 and 3, Bambi, Rudolph and The Polar Express.
Some of my favorite snacks are M&Ms, granola bars, goldfish and popcorn. I LOVE milk - especially chocolate or strawberry. I have only tried pop once or twice and I don't really like it. Mom and Dad are guessing it's the carbonation that I don't like but I prefer milk or apple juice.
Bedtime is around 8:30. I'm still a very good boy about going to bed. Mom and Dad usually tell me I have so many minutes (usually 10-15) and then they set a timer. Once the timer goes off I know it's time to go potty, get my jammies on, brush my teeth, read books and head to bed. Sometimes I get to watch 1 show before bed. I almost always pick Dinosaur Train.
Once I'm in bed we say prayers, I tuck "Monkey" in with "Snugglie" and get tucked in myself.
That's my day and then I wake up and we start all over. :)

More birthday fun....
This time not for me though - for Mommy. We celebrated her birthday yesterday. Daddy took the day off to spend with us. We went out for lunch and then Dad and I went birthday shopping for Mom. Daddy asked what I thought we should get her. My first idea was a race track. He wasn't sure if she really needed a race track so he asked me for another idea. I thought of "a beach ball". I had one other idea that she might like some trains. Right before we went out shopping Dad asked what we were going to look for. I said Mommy needed a birthday hat. Well, we couldn't find a birthday hat but we did come home with flowers, a 'pretty' necklace, a "Party Princess" ribbon, a Snickers bar and best of all, a BEACH BALL!! When we were at the store picking out the beach ball I told Daddy, "I could play with that!" Mommy had a great birthday, thanks to Dad and I. :)

Train Party
After months of talking about my 'train birthday' it finally happened. We had my train party for my third birthday! I had a lot of fun!
Mommy ordered a cake with train tracks on it and then she made little train cakes to go on top of it.
A lot of people I love came to celebrate with me. Granny even got to come stay at our house for a few days. She came the Thursday before my party and stayed until Sunday. My guests included;
Grandpa and Grandma Cota, Grandpa and Grandma Dahsltrom, Granny, Sophie, Layla, Tonya, Devon, Hadyn, Jesse, Christine, Parker, Bella, Wade, Nicole, Addison, MaryKay, Micah, Julia, TJ, Paula, and Brigid.Mommy and Daddy served smoked pork sandwiches, cheesey potatoes, coleslaw, baked beans, fruit, chips, cake and ice cream.
We had a pinata that you pulled the strings and that was supposed to make the treats fall out. It didn't quite work that way so Mom just busted open the bottom. Dad didn't think that was the right thing to do. He was prepared to let a bunch of three year olds beat it with a plastic golf club. Oh well - we got the treats out anyway.
I got a lot of nice gifts some of which include, money, clothes, toy tractors, a canopy for my wagon, toy cars and a car ramp/track, dvd, games, puzzles, bubbles, window stickers, a magnetic writing toy, swings for outside - I'm a very lucky little boy!
As a thank you to my guests I gave my friends a train cup and a bag of goodies including train suckers, goldfish, a Thomas blowout and a Thomas balloon.

Easter
I had a great Easter weekend! Mom, Dad, Marlie and I headed to Harpers. On Saturday we went to an Eater Egg hunt.
My little cousin/friend, Kaylee came too. She tried to steal some of my eggs out of my bucket. I didn't mind though, there were plenty more for me to find.
That night I had a lot of fun when we went bowling with The Reisers, Grandpa and Grandma Dahlstrom and the Ranzenbergers. Kaylee and I had a lot of fun bowling. After bowling we went out for supper then to Curt and Peggy's house and I got to play with all the toys there. I love going to their house! Peggy let me bring home Buzz Lightyear from her house since I was having so much fun playing with it.
On Sunday I woke up and the Easter Bunny had been to Granny's and filled my Easter basket! We went to Great Grandma and Grandpa Cota's house for lunch. We had an Easter Egg hunt there and for Dylan, Kayla, Blaine and I. I found a lot of eggs. Then we went to my Great Aunt and Uncle, Elinor and Dan's house for the Dahlstrom Easter. We had an an Egg Hunt there too, as well as an Easter bag hunt. I got a lot of goodies in my Easter bag.
I was so tired out from all of the fun!
Here are some more pics from my big weekend!

Not sure if this was a happy dance or a mad dance. :)

A new friend....
My buddy, Parker got a baby sister on April 21 and I got a new little friend. Her name is Isabella "Bella" Holtan. Parker got to come stay at our house while his Mom and Dad went to the hospital to have Bella. He got to stay two nights and we had a lot of fun! We played really well together and got to decorate Easter Eggs.
