16 months came and went...

Sorry I missed my 16 months old post. I can't even keep up to myself. Let's see...I don't know that there is a whole lot of new things to report. Just a few words I'm saying...

(and I do have to admit some of my words sound similar, but I know what I'm talking about)

I now say:

dog (which sounds like duck, done, and Diego) daah
gee = snugglie
nnnnice (while I hug and pat something with my hand...could be my snuggle, monkey, mommy, daddy, one of marlie's toys, my sippy cup....anything....if it's 'nnnnice' it's getting a hug and a pat.

I shush Marlie
I pucker up my lips for kisses

I went through a little phase (about a week or 2) where I was a little pickier about what I ate. Mom still isn't sure if it was that I didn't feel all that great, or if I was really just being picky. I am doing better about it recently but still have my moments where I boycott. They never give in and give me something else though. I either have to eat what I have or go without. Bummer!

I forgot to mention that after I got my shots I started getting a few hives here and there. I would get 2-3 at a time and they would go away withing 10-15 minutes of them appearing. The nurse at my Dr. office said they didn't think it was caused by the shots, but that I picked up a virus when I was there getting my shots. I got hives for about 1 week - just a couple a day but they seem to be gone now. I also got about 7 red pots on my legs at the end of last week. Mom thinks they were chicken pox. It's common to get a few spots after you get the chicken pox vaccine. They are all cleared up now too.

We've been spending quite a lot of time outside playing. Mom, Marlie and I go for a walk almost everyday. Well, I ride and they walk. We also get to the park sometimes. Yesterday Dad, Mom, Marlie and I walked to the park. I got to swing and play for awhile before we walked back home. Today Mom and I had a picnic in our yard. After I was done eating I played with Marlie while mom pulled weeds.

Today I was being a silly boy and walked around the house with my snugglie on my head for the longest time. Mom of course had to take a couple pictures.

Did it, did it, did it....

I told you how I learned this from Dora the Explorer...well Mom and Dad caught it on video so I thought I'd share. Turn up your speakers!

A few random thoughts...

I have a few new words to add to my list:

- I learned a sheep says "baa"

-"did it, did it, did it" - and I move my arms and twist my body a little. Mom and Dad are pretty sure I learned this from Dora the Explorer.

Yesterday was a fun day. Mom, Dad, Marlie and I spent time outside in our backyard. I got to swim in my pool, play in my sandbox, play with my bat and ball with daddy and play in the grass. We had a fun time.

And, I thought I'd share my newest trick in a video - (it's a classic example of me imitating my parents) scolding Marlie. Mom thought I was scolding her on Friday for eating sand out of my sandbox but it was confirmed yesterday when I heard her barking outside. I was quick to let her know it wasn't acceptable. Listen closely and you'll hear her barking...and if you can't tell --- I'm saying "Aaaarlliieee"

Giggles and cries...and a few videos

Well my day started out as it usually does. I woke up, Mommy came in and got me, changed me, took me downstairs, I ate breakfast and played with toys. It wasn't long after breakfast was over my day went a little different than usual. She got me dressed right away and told me we were going bye-bye. I love going bye-bye so I was pretty happy about it all. She loaded me in the car and off we went...to the Dr. office! What? I was just there, but I had forgotten all about those shots I was supposed to get but didn't. Well...Mom didn't forget. So, we were there for them...three of them. Mommy brought my snugglie along to help me feel better. It worked! I only cried for about 20 seconds. Mommy cuddled me, I cuddled my snugglie and I was feeling better. I'm glad it's over! I came home and took a big nap! Those...were my cries.

Here are my giggles. When I woke up I had lunch and shortly after that my little buddy Emmett came over to our house. He stayed with Mom and I for the afternoon. We all had fun. I would talk to him, he would smile...then I'd try to steal his pacifier, or climb in the chair he was sitting in. But we had a great time with him and hope he can come visit again.

Here are a few pictures from our afternoon together.

Mom thought this picture was really funny. She said it's a combination of the Butt Paste in my hand, the band-aids on my legs, the fact that I'm wearing no shorts because I spilled Marlie's water and sat in it and the looks on our faces. However, she did say it is also a sweet picture because I'm holding Emmett's hand.

Me trying to get Emmett to smile....

and succeeding!

And, as promised, here are a few videos Mom and Dad took over the weekend.

This one, mom had the screen on the video camera turned around so I could see myself. I was a little confused why I could see the tv that was behind me...in the screen in front of me.

Showing off my reading skills:

And, "talking" on the phone. (notice the sad, pathetic pup in the background)

Time to catch up...

Gosh it's been awhile since I've had a chance to stop and update you. I've had a lot going on! Last week we had company. Mommy's cousin Bailey came and stayed with us. I had a lot of fun with her. She and I played a lot. The first day she was here Mom and Dad took us to the park for a picnic and we played at the splashpad. The water was REALLY cold though so we didn't play long. I had fun touching the water with my hands but if it sprayed me I cried...it was just such cold water. Bailey thought so too!

We went out and did some shopping on Monday. I got some new things for fall/winter and next summer.

Tuesday Grandma D. came to visit. She and I hung out at home while Mom and Bailey went to do some shopping. We had a lot of fun!

We also made a trip to the Children's Zoo. I went there earlier in the year with Mom and Paula, but I was a lot more into it this time. There is a big duck exhibit and I loved it. "Duck. Duck. Duck. " Mom said she thought I said "Duck" about 800 times. :)

Thursday night my buddy, Parker came over to our house. We had fun playing.

Friday we headed back to Mommy's hometown. We went to Great-Grandpa and Grandma Jones' house for Bailey to meet her Dad. I got to spend some time with them before we headed to Granny's house. Saturday Mom, Granny and I did some shopping and then Mom and I made a trip to the park before going out to see Grandpa and Grandma C. Sunday we had a family dinner to celebrate Grandpa C's 60th Birthday. Cake is good!

He got a photo book my Great Grandma C. put together for him with a lot of old pictures.
What do you think....do I look like my Grandpa? This picture was taken of him in 1951.
