Stats update...

I had my 15 month check-up today. I weighed 21 lbs 2 oz (10th %), and 31 1/2" long (75th %), and my head was 46 cm (25th%). My Dr. said I am a healthy 15 month old. He asked Mommy about some of the things I'm doing now. He said I was a little slow on the walking (Duh! But Mom still claims it's because I was learning to how fall carefully before I ventured onto walking), but he did say I have the vocabulary of an 18 month old. And...he added that the vocabulary is a better indicator of how intelligent a child is going to be.

I was scheduled to get some shots today but I woke up with a runny nose this morning so Mom asked if that would affect me getting the shots today. He said no, normally it wouldn't but they were out of one, which is one of two they need to do together anyway. He said it's probably not a bad thing just in case I would get feeling cruddier Mom and Dad would know it's from the runny nose, rather than the shots. So...Mom will be taking me back in a week or so after my nose clears up and I'll get those shots then. All in all it was a great appointment.

15 months old...

I am 15 months old today! If I'm doing my math right that means three months has passed since my 1st birthday. Where did those three months go?

I have been busy learning quite a few new things lately. There are some new words I've picked up.
They are:
peazzz = please
bah-pah = backpack
bubbow=bubble
buhlee= belly (and I point to my belly)

I do A LOT of 'talking' on the 'phone'. My 'phones' include just about anything, including mega blocks, foam blocks, teether, pool toys, even just my hand works as a 'phone'. I like to walk around the house and say "hullah" - jabber a lot and move my hand around and say "uuummm".

Most recently I've been having a lot of fun playing outside. I also like to try and get Marlie to chase me around the house. That is a lot of fun and makes me giggle.

I've been getting some more teeth recently. Mom thought at last count I was up to about 13. I'm also getting more and more hair. It's still pretty thin, but it's slowly coming in.

I've been working on eating with silverware. I still need some practice but I'm getting better.

One thing I've started doing recently is when it's my bedtime Mom or Dad will ask, "Cohen are you ready for night-night?" I always am and I head for the stairs saying, "peeaz, bye-bye" while I wave and blow kisses. Mom and Dad say what good boy I am about going to bed.

Last night Mom and Dad had some friends over and my buddy Parker came over to play. We had a fun time.

That's all I can think of for now. I have my 15 month check-up on Wednesday so I'll update you on how that goes and on my weight and height. Until then - XOXOX

Lovin' the weather....

We've had such a fun week so far. The weather is so perfect for me to play outside. However, it's not quite warm enough for me to be in my pool. Mom thought it was going to be warmer Monday so she filled it up while I was napping. Then it just stayed a little cool so she didn't get me suited up in my trunks. We just went out to play. She said she thought maybe I'd just splash my hands in the water. But I had other plans. I climbed right in that water shoes and all. I didn't mind at all. My diaper swelled up so big my shorts could barely cover it. Oh well! I got to splash!

Tuesday we went out for a walk. We took Marlie with us for most of it. Then we stopped back at home to drop her off and Mom and I headed to the park down the street. I got to swing and go down the slide and climb up the stairs to this tower thing. It was really cool!

After my nap we went outside and played some more. I played on my slide and in my sand box. I was going to take my firetruck for a spin but I got too tired.

Yesterday I played in my sandbox, with my bat and ball, bubbles and with Marlie. It was a lot of fun. Mom said it's supposed to be her 'ideal weather' for the next several days. I am looking forward to playing outside a lot! Maybe I'll be able to get my firetruck out tomorrow if it doesn't rain. So many fun things to do outside.

Mom said we need to spend as much time out there now while it's nice because summer is going fast! I hope you are enjoying the weather as much as I am.

More Grandparent Time...

This weekend Mom and Dad went out of town for a wedding so Grandpa & Grandma C. came to our house to stay with me. We had a lot of fun! We went for a couple walks, played outside, I rode on my little fire truck, we went to church and just had a good time. I don't get to see them very often so it was fun to have them stay at our house. (I think they had fun too!) ;)

Visit to Grandpa and Grandma D's house....

I had a big day today. Mom, Dad, Marlie and I visited Grandpa & Grandma D. and Uncle Brent. Mom and Dad had dentist appointments and Dad and I had eye appointments. I'm not sure about Dad, but I was a good boy for mine. I was really interested in the tools the Dr. was using to try and look in my eyes but he was able to check them out. He said I have healthy eyes but I'll probably be nearsighted, just like my daddy. Right now I should be farsighted, but I'm not, so that tells him I'll probably be nearsighted. We'll know more in a couple years.

After our appointments we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's and then went to eat dinner. We had yummy pizza. Dad was trying to keep me from grabbing the hot pizza pan, and was so focused on that, he didn't realize I grabbed his big glass of cold pop and spilled it all over my lap. I wasn't sure what to do. I thought about crying but I didn't. Dad cleaned me up and took my socks, shoes and pants off while mom got my pizza cut up. It all turned out just fine.

After dinner we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's again and Grandpa had a surprise for me. It was a Diego b-a-l-l! I think I'll have fun playing with it! I love everything "D".

My 4th of July Celebration...

What a fun day I had yesterday! It started out with Mommy waking me up - which almost never happens. They usually let me wake up on my own, but we had places to be yesterday! So, after I'm awake it was breakfast, festive clothing and off to a 4th of July parade. I got to spend my day with so many people I love. Mom and Dad tried to get me to nap before the parade started and they thought they had succeeded, but nope...I'm just not a boy who will sleep anywhere. I occassionaly sleep in the car and I always sleep in my crib (home and at Granny's) but that's pretty much it. I just have a hard time sleeping anywhere else. The parade was pretty long so I watched for awhile, took a break inside, watched a little more, took a break....etc. (you get the picture). After the parade we had a cookout with a lot of yummy food. By this time I was exhausted so Daddy loaded up the car while Mommy got to visit with an old friend she hadn't seen in a very long time and shortly after we hit the road. This was one of those times I feel asleep in the car - I was sooooo tired! But, my nap was only as long as our trip home - about 40 minutes.

When we got back to Granny's we had a nice surprise that Mommy's cousin Tonya was there with Devon. We are just a few weeks apart in age. We weren't too sure of each other at first but after a little while I showed her how we could play with the computer.

Then, our mommies took us to the park across the street and we got to swing and play in the rocks.

When we first got to the park Mommy saw another little girl there that we knew. It was Mercadees! So of course Mom had to get a picture of us together too. I was a stinker and stole her snack cup right away. Hey, in my
defense I have the same one, and thought she
had taken it from me. (Well, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it) :)

After we played at the park, Mom and I headed to Grandpa & Grandma Cota's for dinner. From there we went back to Granny's. Mom and Dad were hoping I would nap, but nope! I just rested in my crib for awhile but never did go to sleep. I was back up - going on my short 40 minute nap for the day. Then...someone came to the door and it was my great-aunt Patty. She brought me an orange push-up for a treat. She was out selling ice cream in town and she was so thoughtful and brought me one. I LOVED it! I ate almost the entire thing all by myself!

The push-up really helped pass the time before it was time for the fireworks. Now I wasn't sure what these "fireworks" were going to be all about since I had never seen any before. I was trying to be good, but was tired and as far as I could tell....nothing was happening - until all of a sudden there was a big burst of pretty colors in the sky! WOW! I was ready for more. I sat on Daddy's lap for the entire show and watched one after one light up the sky. I munched on my snacks, sipped my water and enjoyed. Once the fireworks were over we headed back to Granny's. I got cleaned up, in my jammies and headed to bed. It didn't take me long to fall asleep and I even stayed asleep despite all of the fire crackers being lit off all around town. Mom told me about them, but I never heard a thing!

This picture is when I was gettin' ready to go watch fireworks!

Today...is a new day! I can't wait to see what's in store for me today. I hope you enjoyed your 4th of July as much as I enjoyed mine.
