9 months old!

I turned 9 months old today! This morning I had to go to the Dr. for a check-up. It went well; my Dr. said I'm long and skinny. I weighed in at 17 lbs. 15 oz. (10th %ile) and measured 29 inches long (75th %ile). He is not concerned about my skinny little self, because I'm meeting or exceeding all the milestones a 9 month old should be. He said since I'm eating well, he thinks I just burn a lot of calories being the busy little guy that I am. So, all good news there. Mom said we are going to start slowly working toward getting rid of my bottles. I'm not sure I like this idea, but I guess I'll humor mom and go with the flow. I will start to have whole milk with my meals, and still have formula in my bottles.

As far as eating, I've been eating more table food with Mom and Dad. I like pretty much everything. And...I prefer to feed myself. I really like cheese slices, chicken with bbq sauce, and peas. They are some of my favorites of the new foods I've been eating. I am still taking 5 bottles each day, but like I said, we're supposed to work toward cutting back on that.

Sleeping: I'm still a good sleeper. I sleep about 11- 12 hours a night with two 1 1/2 - 2 hour naps each day.

I am a very happy, smiley little boy. I enjoy playing with my Mommy and Daddy, my puppy dog, and even by myself. I like to watch Go, Diego, Go, eat bananas and puffs. I love to sleep with my Iowa State snuggly blanket and my little monkey. Sometimes Mom catches me talking to him when I wake up.

Oh, and I have moved into my new, bigger car seat. I haven't ridden in it in the car yet, but I did get to try it out before Mom put it in the car. Tonight, after Dad got home, she met a police officer at the police station to check it over and make sure it was installed properly. There were a few changes he made to it, and when he was done, mom said he was very surprised, and pleased with how secure it was. He said it was the most secure car seat he's ever installed, it's not going anywhere. That made mom feel good - and me too! So, here's a picture of me in my new car seat - before it went in the car.

And, yesterday I Mom and Dad took me outside to check out the snow. Of course mom snapped a couple pictures. Enjoy!

Family fun day...

Hello -
Just a quick update. Today we had a fun day. Mommy, Daddy and I went to lunch at Carlos O'Kelly's. I even got to have some chicken from Mom's fajitas. YUM! I was a really good boy all through lunch. A couple ladies commented on my "cute bald head" and one even rubbed it as she walked by! That was a first for me.

After lunch we went to the mall. Mom wanted to shop for some clothes for me for next winter, since they are all on clearance now. So...Dad and I hung out together while Mom looked around. I eventually nodded off in my stroller, which too is something fairly uncommon. It used to be if I wasn't in my crib or car seat I wasn't sleeping. Mom said it's progress. :)

The rest of the afternoon we've just been hanging out at home. It's really cold, windy and nasty out, so I'm glad we're inside.

Hope you had a good day! Stay warm!

Clapping and Standing

Mom got the video camera out the other night and caught me clapping. It's a common occurrence these days since I would say I have mastered it. I think I might even do it in my sleep. :)

While she was video taping me she also caught me standing on my own. I have been doing that for very short periods of time for a little while now, but she finally caught me on tape.

For your viewing pleasure...

Good for a laugh...

Today Mommy threw a treat up for Marlie to catch and I thought it was soooo funny. Since I got such a kick out of it, of course she had to keep doing it - and get out the video camera. So, here I am - Mommy tossing up treats to Marlie and me laughing it up. Enjoy!

If you are need of an applause...

I can help you....because I clap my hands now! We've been working on it for awhile but I started doing it on my own now. I don't put my hands quite flat yet, but I have the concept down.

Also, I've been having a rough few days. I'm cutting six teeth....yes, I said SIX! Four on the top and two on the bottom. Three or four of them have officially broke through, but I'm still working on the others. Once they are through I'll have a total of eight. Four on top and four on the bottom. I've been able to sleep ok, but when I'm awake they really start to get to me. Thank goodness for Hylands Teething Tablets. They really help give me some relief.

Dad goes back to work this week - so Mom said it's time for all of us to get back into our routines. I must admit I've gotten used to having a lot of attention over the last two weeks. Between visiting family - who are always ready to hold me, play with me, and give me all kinds of attention, and having both Mommy and Daddy around day and night...I'm not sure how I'm going to like going back to our everyday schedule. We'll see...Mom said this first week could be a long one. I'll let you know what she has to say. :)

Have a good week!

What do you think?

It's been said - quite a lot recently that I look like my Mommy. My Grandma took this picture of me during the Holidays, and Mommy remembered she had this picture of her from her first Christmas. So...what do you think? Do I look like my Mommy did when she was a baby, or what?
