Colorful evening...

First of all, my day started out with a change! My high chair got put away and now I sit at the table in my booster seat. I had my breakfast at the table this morning. Just one more step in being a big boy!!

Our afternoon was pretty routine...lunch, nap, played outside. But our evening was fun! Mom, Dad and I colored Easter Eggs! We had fun and got through it without any major disasters! We'll call that a success! Here are some pics!

And here is a video:

The BEST weekend!!!

I had the absolute best weekend! It was one fun thing after another!

It started Friday night when we had people over to watch the UNI Panthers play in the Sweet 16. My buddy Parker, and his family came over and Parker and I played and played until about 10:30 p.m.! We were having so much fun!

Saturday I went with Mom and her two friends, Julia and Chrstine, to Cedar Falls. They were going to a couple stores so I got to go hang out with Grandpa D. and Emily at Grandma and Grandpa's house! We had a lot of fun! When we got home it was time for a nap. I had to rest up because Saturday night Mom, Dad and I met Parker, his mom and dad and some other friends of our parents and we got to go bowling! It was so much fun! It took me a couple frames to get it down that I got a turn and then others got their turn before it was my turn again, but once I got it down I was a very good boy and had a lot of fun! You'll have to check out the video of me playing!

The fun doesn't end there! Sunday I got to hang out with Parker AGAIN!!! We went to Palo and we went to an Easter Egg hunt! Parke and I didn't get many eggs but we each got a few. The hunt was over really fast so afterward we played outside at their house for a little while. I learned a little bit about hockey and got to try and use Parker's dad's hockey stick and hit a puck! I have a lot to learn but it was fun to try.

Like I said, it was an all around AWESOME weekend. I had so much fun but now I'm exhausted. I have to get some rest and gear up for the week. I hear there is more fun coming next weekend because it's Easter! I'll keep you posted on what we do.

I'm funny...

Tonight I was sitting in my chair watching Team UmiZoomi on TV and I was grabbing my legs and knees. Mommy said, "where are your knees?" I looked at her and said, 'Aaaahhh-choooo!" She laughed and said, "That's a sneeze! Where are your KNEES?" I guess it was funny and something she wants to remember so she had me post it. I hope you get a kick out of it too. :)

Panthers win!

Before dinner I was watching the game with Mom and Dad. I was clapping and Mom was trying to get me to say "U - N - I" But then it was dinner time, so my Mom and Dad fed me dinner and let me watch "Pat" (Wheel of Fortune) in the kitchen while they cheered, jumped, clapped and screamed in the living room. I had no idea what was going on but they were having fun!

Also, yesterday I got to go play with my buddy "Pawk-uh" (Parker) again! Two times in one weekend....we have fun together - so much fun that I was whipped and slept in today. All that playing wears a little boy out!

I hope you have a fun weekend too. Oh, and the Panthers play again Friday..."Go Panthers!!!"

23 months....

I am 23 months old today and I had a great day! It started out pretty routine but this afternoon and night was a lot of fun! Mom and I met Dad and some of their friends to watch a basketball game. We went to the Mogle's house and the Witliffs and Holtans were there. That means my buddy, Parker and I got to hang out and play! We played Foosball, banged on Rockband drums, sang into a microphone and just ran around.

Then we went out to eat and it was a small place so Parker and I got to run around and "play" pool and video games. I'm used to getting to play pool up on Uncle Dolly's pool table, so when I had to stay on the floor and roll the balls, that didn't go over to well with me at first. I actually screamed and threw a fit, so Mom and Dad decided from now on I have to play pool from the floor - no more getting up on the pool table. I don't think that's a very good idea but I'm sure I won't win...I never do.

Oh, but something yucky happened while we were eating. I had my snack cup and was having a few graham crackers, well mom thought I had dropped one and ate it off the floor, which she thought was gross enough....but then as she was putting me in the chair to eat, she realized I had actually picked up a chunk of dried mud off the floor (it was the same color as my graham crackers) and put that in my mouth. It was YUCKY!!! I was spitting, grabbing my tongue and kind of half crying half whining, but the mud was on my hand so the more I grabbed and wiped my tongue the more mud got in my mouth, the more mad I would get. Mom was trying to wipe it out with a napkin but it was just yucky! I tried to wash it down with milk and that helped a little but it wasn't until I got a taste of ketchup that things went back to normal. :)

Well I guess this is the post where I give you a run down of all my "norms". I'm still a pretty light eater but am getting better. I love my oatmeal for breakfast. Some of my favorite foods are pizza, french fries, bananas, apple sauce, yogurt, cereal bars and peas. One night we were having a different vegetable for diner and I said, "peas pease?" I guess we were out of peas so I didn't get any that night.

- I take one nap a day - usually from 1:00 - 3:00/3:30 ish.
- I love throwing toys for Marlie and giving her hugs
- I still like Go, Diego, Go but I have a new show that I really like and actually watch more intently, it's called Team Umizoomi. I say "bzumbzizumzi pease". Yeah...that's "Umizoomi please" ;)
- I still love to have my 'snugglie' and my monkey AKA "guys" when I go nigh-night
- I love puzzles. I have a few different kinds and just started doing jig-saw puzzles. I LOVE them!
- I know all uppercase letters = recognize them and know what they are, although I don't know the ABC song quite yet.
- I know my numbers 0-9 as far as recognition goes. I can count 1-15 and am working on recognition of numbers 10-20.
- I know shapes; circle, square, rectangle, heart, star, octagon and triangle
- I know colors; red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, brown, pink, black
- I love spotting a (school) 'bus' and announcing it - same goes for 'dabid tuck' (garbage truck)
- I love saying 'bye' to my daddy in the mornings, and I love saying "Doddy?" when I hear the garage door. Sometimes the clothes dryer fools me and I thin it's the garage door. That's a little disappointing.
- I love to play with the rocks from a vase in mom and dad's room. I move them from a box to a bottle to a bowl, and back again. I count them, line them up, set them on mom's pillow...there is endless fun with those rocks.

Well that's me in a 23 month old nutshell. One more month I'll be celebrating my 2nd birthday! Wow!

Happy St. Patrick's Day....

Today is St. Patrick's Day and there was a parade going on downtown Cedar Rapids. Mom and I got all dressed in our St. Patrick's Day gear, hopped in the car and headed down there. I wasn't sure what was going on at first. We were in the car for what seemed like forever and we never did see the parade. Mom told me she just could not find anywhere to park. We drove several blocks all directions of the parade route but our Irish luck was not helping today. After driving around downtown for over an hour looking for a parking spot Mom said we were just going to go home. I didn't mind but Mom sure was bummed. She said she was excited for me to see the parade. I guess next year we'll have to try again with a different plan. Anyway, we came home and played outside for awhile. It's another beautiful day! I hope you have a happy St. Patrick's Day!

Another great day....

I spent a lot of my day yesterday playing outside! Most of the time I didn't even need to wear a coat it was so nice out! We got to open up my sandbox for the first time this season, and Mom brought my climber/slide up from the basement and set it up outside! I also got to bring my basketball hoop and baseball tee out. I ran, played, kicked the ball, shot hoops, hit the ball, went

down the slide, played in the sandbox, pushed my lawn mower around and threw toys for Marlie. What a great day!

When Dad got home he took me out and we played some more while Mom made dinner. We got
to grill out...I even ate my chicken. I rarely eat meat so it was a winner in my book!

Today it isn't as nice and warm out as it was yesterday but I hope I still get to play outside for a little while anyway.

I hope you are enjoying the nice weather!

Feeling better....

I'm over my cold and feeling much better! Wednesday my Grandma D came to our house. She had time off from work so she came and spent the night. She and I hung out that night while Mom and Dad got to go do something together. Grandma and I played, read books, did puzzles, colored, all sorts of fun things.

The next day she took Mommy and I out for lunch. We went to Red Robin. There are so many fun things to see there. Both Mom and Grandma said I was a very good boy.

It was a very nice day on Thursday. The temperature outside was over 50 degrees! Mom took Marlie and I for a walk and I got to play outside on my firetruck! I had fun riding it and pushing it up and down the sidewalk.

Friday Mom and I got to get back to the Rec Center! We hadn't been there for almost two weeks between the both
of us being
sick. I was a good boy and didn't get sad at all when Mommy left me in the Rec Room. Mom said she thought I was even kind of excited to get back there.

This weekend we're just planning on hanging out at home. I hope you have a good weekend!

It's no fun being sick...

Mom started to come down with a cold this past weekend and then was sick a couple days. While she wasn't feeling well I got to watch a lot of my favorite cartoons. Her throat was scratchy and she didn't have much of a voice so we couldn't even read and sing like we usually do. But it was ok.

But now I'm sick. I have the same thing Mommy had and I don't feel good. I have a fever too. So though Mom is feeling better and now she can read and sing to me, I'm still watching a lot of my favorite cartoons because I don't feel like doing much else.

Birthay parties!!

Last Saturday I had two birthday parties to go to. My friend, Drew turned two and my friend, Emmett turned one! We started our fun at Drew's house for pizza and cake. Yum! I got to play with him and Parker. We had fun playing with leggos, basketball and books!

Next we went to Emmett's house. We had a lot of yummy food there and I got to have one those famous "Patti cookies"! Patti is Emmett's grandma and she makes THE BEST chocolate chip cookies! At Emmett's party I was being kind of goofy but having a lot of fun!

It was a really great day!
