My First Christmas...

Well, I survived it! I actually had a wonderful first Christmas. But wow, the holidays really do go on and on, and wear you out! It started on Christmas Eve. We had my Grandma and Grandpa D. and Uncle Brent at our house. I got so many fun presents!

Then, I woke up Christmas morning and Santa had been here. He brought me a few presents, as well as a present for Mom and Dad, and Marlie. I also got some presents from Mommy and Daddy. Later that morning we got in the car and headed to my great-grandma and great-grandpa C.'s house to celebrate with them. I got spoiled there with some nice gifts. Then we packed up in the car again to head to my great-aunt's house to celebrate with one side of Daddy's family. Whew! From there, we got back in the car and went to Granny C's house. I got some more nice presents there and some much needed rest.

The next day we hung out there most of the day, before heading to my great-aunt's house to celebrate with the other side of Daddy's family. They also spoiled me with a gift. Daddy drove us home in REALLY thick fog but he got us there safe and sound.

The next day we went to my Grandpa C's house to spend some time with him. I hadn't gotten to see him much yet so that was fun. I got spoiled there with great gifts too.

Then......the next day we went to another great-uncle and great-aunt's house to visit them and some of my cousins. They ALSO spoiled me with a fun present. Wow! I'm such a lucky boy!

We made it back home Monday and as much fun as I had with family, I was really happy to be back home and sleep in my crib. Mommy and Daddy said I was a really good boy while we were gone with such weird schedules but it did throw me off a little. Once back home I re-adjusted quickly and got right back to my "normal" routine. And...I had some great toys to play with, clothes to wear, blankets to snuggle, books to read, and sippy cups to drink from!

Last night I got to spend some time with Grandpa and Grandma D while Mom and Dad went to the DTI Christmas party with Uncle Brent and Mommy's co-workers. We had fun!

Today I've been hanging out at home with Mom, Dad and some of their friends while they played Rock Band 2 with Daddy. I guess I probably won't be ringing in 2009, I'll have to head to bed before then but I have to say 2008 has treated me well. I guess the most important thing that happened to me this past year is....well, I was born! I'd say that's pretty significant. :) Not to mention all the things I've learned. It's been a big year for me, and I'm sure 2009 will be full of great things too. I have so many things to look forward to. I wish you all a safe, happy and healthy new year!

Thanks for reading, and be sure to join me as I take Cohen's Crib Notes into 2009!

Peace,

Video!!

Mom got her work computer today so now I can put some videos of myself on here. Our video camera never worked with our laptop, but does with this! These first couple I saved at really low quality. Mommy and I are going to mess with it later to figure out what size will be best to save them at, but for now....enjoy!

Eight months old....

Yup! Another month has gone by and that means I'm another month older. I was having fun with my car seat picture this time. Thought I'd show my silly side. Anyway, of course some things have changed over the past month, but not a whole lot.

I'm a busy, busy little boy. I crawl all over the house, and pull myself up on anything I can. I've taken a few tumbles but nothing serious. I'm working on a top tooth, but it just won't seem to break through. It doesn't bother me too much though so that's good.

One of my favorite past times is to go up and down the living room steps. I've officially mastered that. I also like to try and get the dog dishes. I have a "sprint crawl" - at least that 's what Mom and Dad call it. It's when I'm crawling along and I see something I really want, I kick it to high gear and crawl really, really fast.

My eating and sleeping habits haven't changed much. I'm starting to eat more textured foods and meats rather than just purees. I love to eat bananas cut up, and little cereal puffs. They are my FAVORITE!!

I've turned in to quite the jabber box. And, I recently have been showing my tongue off a lot. I either have it hanging out of my mouth while I'm crawling around, or when I really get 'telling a story' it comes out quite often.

I'm getting a little more hair. Slow but sure it's coming in. But, since I'm still pretty bald every little bump and bruise will show, and
today I got my first real owie. I was trying to climb up Mama's legs, grabbing on to her her pant leg, she was making me a bottle and before she could grab me....boom. Down I went and scrapped my head on the underneath of the cabinets. I cried for a minute, but got over it quick. Mom had to take a picture though...my first boom.

Like I said, not a whole lot changed over the past month. Just growing and getting busier and busier. I'm a very happy, smiley little guy. I love people, especially when they talk to me.

Mom forgot to weigh and measure me today, so we'll do that tomorrow and report it later. Since I don't have a whole lot to write about I thought I'd just share a few more pictures.

I pulled this bow off of a Christmas present so Dad stuck it on my head.

Trying to play with Marlie....giving her a toy bunny.

Mommy loves how I kneel and play with things, so she took my picture kneeling.

This is a common occurrence during meal time. Marlie likes to hang around my high chair. I think it's funny and let her lick my hand and even share my food. I don't understand why I'm not supposed to. The scale is starting to reflect it for Marlie though. Ooops. Now Mama puts her in her kennel when I'm feeding myself.

It was my first, but surely not my last....

Taste of dirt that is! Today I was kneeling in front of the window just watching out jabbering, when Mom realized I got awful quiet, and then remembered there was a big potted plant not far from where I was watching out the window. Yup, I made my way to the plant and gave the dirt a try. I had my hand all dirt, dirt on my lips and my tongue sticking out with a "YUCK!" look on my face. Mom couldn't help but laugh. We got me all cleaned up and good as new. We won't be letting that happen again.

Mom's new toy...

So my Mom got a new camera and boy oh boy, she won't put it down. I mean I know I'm cute and all that stuff, but geesh Mom -enough already! Anyway, she wanted me to share a few pictures she took with it. (As well as the ones of Marlie and I in the previous post).

A boy and his dog....

Wanted to share...

I have a few pictures I've been wanting to share with you.

Mommy, me, Lamista and Mercadees on Thanksgiving at Great-Grandma D's house.

No puppy in here....I can't find Marlie!

"You keep a look out that way, and I'll watch this way.
Let me know if you see anything!"

Just doing a little online holiday shopping. I love the laptop!

Weekend happenings....

Our weekend was pretty fun. We didn't do a whole lot, but I got to go see Santa and tell him what is on my Christmas list. He wasn't very smiley, but he was nice and gave me a candy cane. Mommy let me have a few licks off it then she took it away. I liked it though. I guess he's going to be back in town this Saturday and we're going to go see him again. Maybe he'll be having a better day then and smile...at least a little.

I hung out with Dad and watched some football while Mommy did some Christmas shopping.

The rest of the weekend we just played. I love weekends when Mommy and Daddy are both home and I get soooo much attention.

It's white outside...

Wow! I woke up yesterday and it was white outside. I had never seen that before. Daddy told me it was snow and I'll probably see more of it in the coming months.

I just wanted to tell you that I like playing in my 'pig pen' play area again. You know I told you I didn't like being left alone in there last week. Well, that was a short lived phased, and Mom said she knows it will probably come and go and come and go again, but we're all enjoying that I like playing with my toys in there again.

This morning I spent quite a long time just going up and down our 2 steps into the living room. Id' get up there, turn around, go back down, turn around, go back up, on and on....It keeps me busy and is so much fun!

Hope you have a good day!
