| Me with Mrs. Monroe |
My first year of Kindergarten came to and end on June 4. About a week before that we got news that our principal would be moved to a different school for next year. We all love her so much and are going to miss her. Mrs. Monroe is so nice, caring and fun! We were very happy that I got to be one of her students even if it was only for a year.
We tried to make the last few days of school as much fun and happy as we could even though the majority of us were sad because she was leaving us.
We wore yellow on the last day because that's Mrs. Monroe's favorite color. That was also games day at school and Mrs. Monroe surprised us all by dancing on the roof of the school. She gave each student a pencil as a going away gift. A lot of students brought her gifts and cards as well.
During the last week of school we also had a gathering at the school where we used sidewalk chalk to decorated the sidewalks with messages of love for Mrs. Monroe. We also had a family picnic, presented her with a platter that had each student's finger print that made up the leaves of a tree, and the school a tree planted on the school grounds in her honor.
Many parents worked hard to try to get the decision for her to moved changed but no luck. Our family enjoyed our year with Mrs. Monroe!

I also had a great year with my Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Felber and we'll miss her too, but she'll be there next year. We'll still get to see her in the halls. :) I was very lucky to have such a wonderful, caring teacher to get me started in school. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot.

Giving Mrs. Monroe her gift. We got her a bracelet with a ling from her favorite song, "And I think to myself, what a wonderful world."
