Halloween fun....

This weekend I've had all kinds of Halloween fun! Today the real estate company that is selling our house hosted a Halloween party for kids. Mom and Dad took me and I had fun! They had a trackless train ride (which was my favorite of course), games, face painting, photo booth, balloon artist, drawings for prizes, popcorn and juice, and each kid got to pick out a pumpkin and paint it if they wanted. Here are some pictures from that party!

Working hard on my pumpkin.

Have you ever seen a three-eyed pumpkin?
It would have had about 6 eyes if they let me keep going.

Then, after that we met up with my buds, Parker and Drew and our parents took us to Ushers Ferry for their safe trick or treating. We got a lot of candy. But it didn't start until 1:00 so about half way though I started getting tired. At one point I told Mom and Dad, "I tired. I wake up!" But toward the end Dad had to carry me, I was beat! He asked me if I wanted to play with the parachute or bean bag toss and I said, "No, I go home." But, I did have fun and here are some pics from that!

My buddy is back in town!

Last night was such a great night! I had my two best buds here again! Drew's Mommy brought him and his new little brother, Cole to Marion for a visit. It was so fun to play together with him and Parker again! Everyone came over to our house to play and have dinner.

Our parents thought it was fun to see the three of us talk to each other since last time we were together we weren't as conversational as we are now - that was 5 months ago.

Here are a few pictures from our time together last night. We have a few more things planned during their visit so I'll probably have some more pictures to share later.

Funnies...

Just a couple funny things I've said/done in the last week that Mom doesn't want to forget.

Today Grandpa and Grandma Cota were coming to our house but Mom didn't tell me. She wanted it to be a surprise and see my reaction when I saw them. We had to run to the grocery store before they came and on our way there she told me someone was coming to see me and it was a surprise. She said, "Who do you think is coming to our house to see you?" I paused and said, "Uuummmm......it be Santa?"

Over the weekend I was sitting at the table eating a cookie. I sort of fell and bumped my side on the table. It hurt and I kind of whined. Daddy asked if I was ok and I said, "yeah". Dad said, 'The cookie will make it better." When Mom looked over I was rubbing the cookie over the area where I bumped. Dad said, "Well that isn't exactly what I meant." Ha ha!

Preview of Halloween...

Mom got me all decked out in my Halloween costume yesterday. She loaded up a pumpkin and my bucket in the stroller and we headed to the park so she could take some pictures of me. Afterward I got to go play on the slides. I love that. Every time we drive by the park I say, "That look so fun". :)

Enjoy the pics!

Two and a half

Today I am two and a half years old. That means tomorrow I'll be closer to three than I am to two! Wow! I thought I'd do my summary of what I'm up to these days.

Most of all I am learning and talking like crazy! I LOVE to learn. I recently mastered all of the letter sounds so now I like to figure out what letter words start with. I've started pointing to words in books and asking Mom and Dad what they say.

I learned my numbers awhile back but from my Leap Frog videos I'm learning to count by 2s, 5s and 10s. I definitely don't have those mastered but I'm pretty good at counting by 10s and I'm working on it. I recently learned that the 'one hand number' is 5 and the 'two hands number' is 10 - so I did learn that 5+5+10! My first math problem. :)

I have always loved puzzles but I recently have really gotten into them - again I guess you could say.

I learned how to operate the mouse pad on the laptop so if Mom or Dad pulls up You Tube and searches toy trains I can maneuver to the different videos I want. That makes us all happy. I also can power on the DVD player, open it up and put in my favorite DVD. I do need Mom or Dad's help getting the right input on the TV but hey....I'm only 2 1/2. :)

Last night I surprised Mom and Dad. Mom asked, "Do you know your phone number?" (Neither she or Dad have ever taught it to me) I didn't respond when she asked and then Mom said the first three digits and I quickly chimed in with the last four. Mom and Dad were both SHOCKED! They had no idea that I did know our phone number. :) I'm telling ya.....I'm ALWAYS listening! :)

Some things I say and do: If I want Mom or Dad to ask me something I say the question I want them to ask. For example, "What I be for Halloween?" Then they ask me, "What are you going to be for Halloween?" And I answer them. If I say something and they repeat it in a questioning way, I say, "Is that what I'm saying?" If I ask for a certain show or DVD and they play it, I say, "Is that what I want". That is their cue to ask, "Is that what you want?" So I can say, "yes". :)

I'm still obsessed with trains of course. But I'm also starting to get into football more. I LOVE to tackle Daddy. And, I get in a three point stance and say, "hut - hut - HIKE" and then run like crazy with the football.

Oh, I guess my really update for 2 1/2 is that I'm going a pretty good job with the potty training.
I have mastered the "how to" of both varieties of pottying - it took me a little while to do #2 on the potty but I'm doing MUCH better with that in the last couple weeks. I still need to work on being better about telling Mom and Dad when I need to go so I can get to the potty on time but I'm definitely making progress and Mom thinks I actually just might get there. Ha! Ha!

I like to recite and act out some of my favorite shows. There are several 'skits' I do from Thomas and Friends, my Leap Frog videos, (Letters, Math to the Moon, and Math Circus). I like it when Mom and Dad play along and do their part too. :)

I'm getting a *little* bit more adventurous with eating. I still stick to my favorites but in the last month I added chicken noodle soup with shaped noodles (Cars, Dora or alphabet) to my menu and just this week I started eating "beef". Mom and Dad call it hamburger but since I would never eat hamburger or "meat" they decided to call it something other than that for the sake of not hindering me eating it. They are silly.

My sleeping habits haven't changed. Still napping 1 1/2 - 2 hours everyday and sleeping my 11 - 12 hours a night.

That's about all I can think of. My biggest changes have been how much I'm talking and that I'm actually potty training.

We're excited to see what the next 6 months will have in store for me!

Busy weekend for me...

We had a fun filled weekend! Friday night we went to The Mogles for a fish fry. Parker and I had fun playing with another little boy about our age. We played with the toys we brought and our favorite pastime at the Mogles....the Foosball table! It was a late night for me but I was a good boy! I didn't get home and to bed until after 11:00!

Saturday was a boys day! Mom and Christine went to a craft fair so Dad and I hung out and Jesse and Parker joined us. Parker and I had fun with our dads. We played a lot and watched football.

Sunday we were back to the Mogles for the Vikings/Cowboys game. Parker was supposed to be there again but he ended up getting sick the night before so they stayed home. I was a good boy and entertained myself most of the afternoon. Played more Foosball, played with Indy and Major (the Mogle dogs), watched some football, ate chips and cookies, ran laps in the basement with the football and played with my toys.

I had a FUN weekend!!!
