What I'm Up To

I haven't done an update lately on what I'm up to these days. We recently weighed and measured me. I was 40" tall and weighed 30 pounds with my pajamas on.

I'm still really enjoying preschool. I look forward to going every Tuesday and Thursday. When Mom picks me up from school we talk on our way home about my morning. She always asks what I learned and I always tell her 'books". I also always report if we played outside or in the gym. Mom thinks it's funny that when she gets there to get me we are sitting on the rug with a book and I always have to finish my book before I get up to go over to greet her.

Mom and Dad have been talking to me a lot lately about trying new things - as far as foods. I'm still not a big fan of it but I am getting better. This week we've had at least one new thing every night for dinner and I've tried them every night except tonight. Tonight was a chicken and cheese quesedilla and I just didn't want to try that. I passed up my chance at a chocolate chip cookie to avoid having to try it. But last night I at baby carrots and ranch and I did like that!

My biggest news is that I am 100% potty trained (Mom and Dad said "FINALLY!!")! For about two months now I have been going when I need to go all by myself or letting Mom and Dad know they need to take me. It's been a looong time coming but I have arrived! Last night was a big night for me! I still had been wearing a pull up to bed at night but had been waking up dry for the last couple weeks so Mom and Dad decided to have me start wearing underwear at night. First night was a success! We're all thinking we're done with pull ups! Mom swears the thing that made me turn the corner was advice her friend Melissa gave her. Melissa said she told Joey to listen to his body so Mom told me to "listen to my belly and when it tells me to go potty I need to go to the bathroom and use the potty.". Ever since then and still today when I have to go I say, "My belly is telling me to go potty." and I go in and go. Mom wishes she knew that trick several months ago. :)

Quick run down of my 'routine'. Wake around 7:30-8:00, breakfast of peanut butter bread, banana and chocolate milk. Every. Single. Morning! They are my staples. I am into watching Caillou so I watch an episode of that every morning. Lunch around noon, take a 2 hour nap between 1 - 1:30. Bedtime around 8:30.

I'm really into playing Kinect Sports 2 and Kinect Sports (again). Our game was broken for awhile but Mom and Dad bought another one and we recently got Kinect Sports 2. It's peaked my interest in actual sports too. I'm really in to playing football, bowling, soccer, basketball, 'running track and field', pretending drum sticks are javelins, and my foam Diego hockey puck is a discus. Oh and boxing of course! Mom and Dad were watching my on the camera in my room one night and they said they saw me standing on my bed pretending to box "Kiki" the Monkey. :)

Mom and Dad both have said my imagination is starting to go wild. I'm starting to pretend so many things. I think it's fun and I think Mom and Dad like to see what I can come up with.

That's all I can think of right now.

More snow fun!

Today we went sledding across the street in some open lots. There weren't drifts like there are in our yard and the hills a just little bigger. Actually

a perfect size for Parker and I. We both went sledding over there and had so much fun!

After sledding we went to the backyard and our dads helped us build a big, HUGE ! We thought it was pretty cool!

Another fun day of playing in the snow!

SNOW!!! FINALLY!!

I have been waiting and waiting to play in snow. Finally we got some snow and I have been having soooo much fun playing in it. I only got to go out for a little while on Friday because it was pretty cold but I helped Mom shovel and had fun jumping around in the snow.

Today it's much nicer out so we got to play for a long time outside. Mom, Dad, Marlie and I all went out to play. We tried sledding but it was kind of hard because of the drifts we got from the wind. Dad was nice and pulled me down the hill a few times but I thought it was funny to bail off the sled part way down the hill. We made a little snowman. Just a little one because it isn't the right kind of snow for a snowman. The snow next to the house was starting to melt some so it was sticky and worked ok. But after we made it Marlie came up and started pawing it down. Crazy dog!

After we played outside we came in and had some hot chocolate. YUM!! It's been such a fun day! Sounds like we might try sledding somewhere else tomorrow. I'll keep you posted!

Dad gave me a little push to see if I could go by myself. I didn't get very far though.

Snow dog! Marlie had fun chasing after snowballs and running through the snow.

Mmmm....hot chocolate!!

Grandparent Time

Last weekend I got to go spend the weekend at Grandpa and Grandma Dahlstrom's house. We had fun playing Xbox Kinect, board games, puzzles and toys. Thursday Grandpa Cota came to visit. We played board games while he was here. We got our first real snow that day too so was anxious to get out and play in it. I kept saying, "But we need more. There isn't enough". :)

January Spring Day

At preschool I learned that after fall comes SNOW! Well, we had a little bit of wet snow in November that I played in but it was gone in less than a day. We haven't seen anything other than little flakes flying through the air since. Mom and Dad keep saying it's been a weird winter and it's much warmer than it usually is.

Yesterday it was almost 60 degrees! At our house it was 59 degrees most of the day. After school I had lunch then Mom, Marlie and I went outside to play. We played soccer in the backyard, cleaned up after Marlie in the yard, I played on my neighbor, Andrea's play set, we went on a wagon ride and I played with my outside garage toys. It was so fun, sunny and warm. While I played up front Mom took the outside Christmas decorations down.

It's supposed to be nice again today - not as warm as 60 but in the upper 40's. We might get to play outside again today! Mom and Dad seem happy with this weather but I was kind of looking forward to playing in the snow. Dad says it will come. Just wonder how long I have to wait!?!?!

Ringin' in the New year

We celebrated New Years Eve with our next door neighbors, the Reznicows and Holtans. We did a "progressive dinner" where we started at Holtans and had appetizers and punch. After that we came to our house and ate dinner. After eating and playing here for awhile we went to Andrea's house for dessert and to party!

Parker, Andrea and I played, partied, danced and went strong until 2:00 a.m.! Our Moms and Dads were having a good time too! We watched the NYC ball drop. We had hats, horns and noise makers.

It was such a fun night! Our Moms and Dads were surprised we stayed up so late and played so well together all night! It was so much fun!! I hope we get to all get together again soon!

My hat wouldn't stay on and I thought it was so funny!
We would say "Happy New Year!" but I'd jump and off it went.

Eye Exam and Grandpa's Birthday

On Thursday we went to Cedar Falls so Dad, Mom and I could all get our eyes checked. Mom, Dad, Grandma D, and the eye Dr. she works for all said I did a great job.

After our eye appointments we went and picked up some cupcakes and Daddy took me into a train hobby shop in CF. I LOVED it!

Then we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house to have dinner and celebrate Grandpa's birthday with them and Uncle Dolly, Kari and Reese. I had so much fun playing!
