I went on a trip!

Mom and Dad planned a fun little trip that was all about things I would love - and I did! We left on Wednesday and had a long car ride (4 hours!). We stopped at Grandpa and Grandma Dahlstrom's to drop Marlie off. She got to stay with them while we were gone. From there we had another hour drive before we stopped and ate lunch at McDonalds and I got to play at the Playplace there. Then we had another two hours to go but I took a nap for about half of it. I had to get rested up for what the rest of the day had in store.

We got to Minneapolis and I had no idea what we were going to do but we went to a really fun show, Nickelodeon Storytime Live! I got to see Kai-Lan, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets and Dora and Boots! It was hard to sit through all of it after being in the car that long, but Mom and Dad said I did pretty good and only missed part of the second show and part of the third show.

After the show we drove to our hotel. I saw so many airplanes that were flying really low. Dad said they were taking off and landing at the airport that was nearby. I was so excited to see so many 'air-panes"! When we got to our hotel we were so lucky that we could see the 'air-panes' right out our hotel window!! It was so cool! Mom and Dad said they didn't think it was so cool the next morning when the planes woke them up at 6:45 but I sure thought they were fun to watch and they didn't wake me up.

After we ate dinner in our hotel room we went to a store, IKEA that mom wanted to go to. It was fun. There were toys there I could play with so I didn't mind. We were only there for about an hour and then they closed. When we got back to our hotel we went swimming but the pool was too cold! I didn't stay in there long. We went back to our room and got ready for bed. Mom said I was such a good boy about going to bed in my pack-n-play in the hotel. I didn't even cry!

The next morning we got up, had breakfast, got ready and went to another really fun place, The Mall of America! I had never been there but they had so many fun things to do!

One of my favorite parts was Nickelodeon Universe! They have so many fun rides in there and some of my favorite TV friends!

After we did some shopping and hung out in Nick Universe we went to have lunch. Mom was really excited to take me to Rainforest Cafe'. She had eaten there before and thought I would love it. I did like it but I was getting tired so didn't enjoy it as much as she had hoped I would. It is really cool in there though. They have big fish aquariums and pretend monkeys that sit up in trees and every few minutes they 'wake-up' and make monkey noises. And then about every half hour there is thunders and lightening. That didn't even scare me!

After lunch we went to another cool place in the mall. It was called Underwater Adventures and I got to see so many fish, stingrays and sharks!

During part of it the fish and sharks were all around us. They would even swim over our heads. That was so cool!

There were also jelly fish!

After all that, I was tired! So Mom, Dad and I headed out and back in the car for the long trip home. I guess I fell asleep about 5 minutes after we left the mall. Again, Mom and Dad said I was a good boy for such a long ride. We drove three hours back to Grandpa and Grandma's house to pick Marlie up. When we got there we were all ready to get out of the car. We spend a couple hours with them. I played with toys and we had supper. The last hour home was a little hard to sit through but we all made it! All in all it was a very fun couple of days!

Here are a few more pictures I wanted to share!

This was my first escalator ride. Dad and I went up and down
a few times during intermission of the Storytime Live show.

These pics below are all from Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America.

It's Diego!!

This is the Lego Land at Mall of America. Dad and I were building a tower.

A whole new view...

It's been a week of changes for me. First my big boy bed, and now yesterday my car seat got turned around so I face forward! I have a whole new view on things when we go in the car! I think I'm pretty cool stuff when I'm sitting in the car now. When Mom put me in there for the first time I said, "no". I didn't think I was supposed to sit that way. But once I figured out it was ok Mom said I had a pretty proud grin on my face!

Big boy bed!!

Last night after all my fun with my cousins I slept in my big boy bed for the first time! Well, really it's still the same bed, but there is a shorter rail on the front and a spot where I can get in and out. I was pretty tired last night when we got home. I did notice a difference though. I was feeling around where the opening was and feeling the lower railing but I stayed in my bed and slept all night like I usually do. In the morning I did what I always do - I just laid in bed and jabbered until Daddy came into get me.

Nap time I did pretty good too. I climbed part way out twice but quickly climbed right back in both times. I took a good nap and when I woke up I got up out of my bed and opened my door. Daddy came to get me. I like having a little more freedom but I have a feeling Mom and Dad are going to set some rules about how this all works. I'll keep you posted!

Fun night with my cousins...

Saturday Mom, her cousin, Sophie and friend, Paula had a garage sale. During the sale Layla, (mom's cousin's daughter) and I got to play inside while Dad kept an eye on us. Then last night we went over to Layla's house and more of my cousins were there. (Mom's cousins and their kids). I got to play with Devon, Hadyn, Layla and Harrison. It was a lot of fun!

Rainy but colorful day....

Today it's raining out so we really can't play outside. Mom thought it was a perfect day to try out one of my birthday gifts...PAINT! I've never painted before. I've colored with crayons and markers but never paint. It was a lot of fun. Mom bought some canvases for me to paint on. We used colors that go with my room so we can hang a painting or two up in my room. Here are some pics from my creative morning.

Two isn't so terrible!

Today is my 2nd birthday. I woke up this morning and Daddy heard me on the monitor repeating "Haaahhh -peee Birt - day!" over and over again. :) I had a great day! I spent the day at home with mom, but then tonight my friend, Parker and his Mom and Dad came over to our house. We had left overs from my party and had more birthday cake and they sang "Happy Birthday" to me. After dinner, we had cake and ice cream and we all went to play at the park. We had a lot of fun!

Yesterday was my big birthday party! I had a Go, Diego, Go theme party and so many of my family and friends came to celebrate with me. I am such a lucky boy and I got so many awesome gifts! I do have to say though, that my favorite gift was Thomas the Train bath toys. However I don't intend to use them as bath toys...at least not yet. I have waaaaay too much fun carrying the three of them around EVERYWHERE I go, saying , "taaains......taaaains" I LOVE them! A few other special gifts I got was a toy box that was my mommy's when she was a little girl. Grandpa and Grandma had it painted with my name on it. And my Granny got me a train that spells out my name. She painted it herself to match my bedroom. I also got a golf set, a Tag Jr. reading system and some Tag Jr books, a bus, a sprinkler, some roller skates, paints and paint brushes, a book, a Thomas the Train outfit, a rodeo set with horses and cowboys, another Thomas Train, some money, and a pedal tractor! I still need to work on pedaling but I can reach them!

My friends and I had fun playing tee-ball, soccer and basketball with Uncle Dolly, playing in the ball pit, on the climber, in the sandbox and with bubbles!

Here's the stuff Mom is going to want me to write about so she doesn't forget it....

At two years old I go to bed around 8:30 and get up around 8:30 most days. Some days I sleep in until 9 or 9:30. I like to have oatmeal for breakfast - different flavors like cinnamon roll, banana bread, apple crisp, peaches, blueberries or strawberries and cream. It's yummy!

I always take my 'guys' (snugglie and monkey) to bed with me. And I say "I....wuv.....eeee (you)" to who ever puts me to bed.

I'm not a real big eater. I really don't like meat very much. I will eat chicken most of them time but that's about it. Not much for eating hamburger or any other kind of meat. I LOVE pizza, bread, peas, green beans, bananas, craisins, dried cherries, grapes, strawberries and gold fish crackers.

I love getting my socks and shoes taken off, so much the anticipation is almost more than I can handle. I usually am giggling and flinching before they are even off. It's pretty funny I guess. And my toes...well my toes wiggle almost constantly. When I am watching tv, just relaxing or doing pretty much anything, they are wiggling. Dad says I get that from Mom and Mom says she gets it from Grandpa...so I guess I come by it naturally.

Some funny things I am saying now are, "oh, oh, oh-tay", "seat belt on" (this comes from 'Bot' on Team Umizoomi).

I recently discovered Thomas the Train. I LOVE watching it. I still watch Umizoomi, Diego, Dora, Kai-Lan and Mickey Mouse....but right now Thomas is my obsession. Mom and Dad aren't really sure how my love for trains started and to be honest I really don't either but I do love them!

I love playing outside in my sandbox, kicking a ball around the yard, climbing up on my play set and going down the slide. I LOVE Marlie! She makes me smile. I like to give her hugs and throw toys for her.

I act shy when someone new first talks to me but within a few minutes I'm all smiles and thinking they should be talking to me more.

I don't have my 2 year check up scheduled yet but Mom weighed and measured me. I weigh 24 pounds and am between 33 1/2 - 33 3/4 inches tall. My height would put me between the 25-50th percentile and my weight 5-10th percentile.

I think being two is going to be a lot of fun! I'll still be writing about my many adventures. I hope you'll check in on me from time to time!

Even best buds have disagreements :)

But they still help each other out

Oh and I wanted to share these pictures. They are of my friend Parker, and our daddies. I know I've posted the older ones before, but just for fun here they are together.

(And nice - Dad has the same shirt on in the one from when we were newborns to the one tonight) :)

This is livin'...

I had another great weekend full of fun. Friday night we met my buddies, Parker and Drew and their moms and dads at The Outback for dinner. After that we all went to the park and played. We all had a great time!

I had to get to bed and get rested up though because on Saturday we went to Parker's house to celebrate his 2nd birthday! He had a Minnesota Twins theme party and it was a lot of fun. I played and played and at a lot of yummy cake!

I had to rest up from all that fun because it was going to be my party on Sunday. I'll tell you all about that later!

I hope you had a great weekend!
