Hello! I thought it was time to slow down again and post. Let's see....what have I been up to? Well, I started out last week with a fever. I just wasn't feeling the best. I had the fever for about 1 1/2 days. I got a lot of rest and was feeling better. Friday Grandpa C. came to visit. He was going through on his way home from a dr. appt. That evening we went to a picnic for daddy's work. They had a cookout and there was a clown there. I got a lion balloon animal from him and I got to swing on the swings. Saturday night we had another cookout with our neighbors. It was the 4th annual neighborhood cookout. I had a lot of fun walking up and down the sidewalk with daddy....and the best part was eating a m&m cookie. I couldn't stop smiling with each bite I took. It was so yummy!
This morning Mom took Marlie and I for a walk. It was nice and cool outside. I even had to wear jeans, a sweatshirt, socks and shoes. After my nap and lunch, Mommy and I made a trip to the mall. She needed to shop for a couple things. When she was done shopping she took me to the play center in the mall and I got to climb around on all the fun things in there. That also put a big smile on my face. Mom says I have a smile that melts her heart. No matter how many times she sees it, it's just as fun to see it the next time.
Tonight Daddy has a softball game. I think we are going to go watch. It's kind of chilly here though so if we go I'll have to bundle up again. We like the break from the heat and humidity we had last week.
Later this week we'll be heading out for the 4th of July. Mom and Dad said I get to go watch a parade again, and hopefully I'll stay awake for the fireworks!!! I'll update you on that when we get back.
Have a safe and happy 4th!

Fun filled weekend...

We had a great weekend! Friday night we hung out with some of Mommy and Daddy's friends and I got to play with Drew and Parker. I love when I can get together with little buddies. I even stayed up extra late playing. I didn't get to bed until after 10:00 but I was having so much fun!
Saturday we had to get up kind of early and head back to Mom's hometown. After we got to Granny's house I had a nap. When I woke up we headed to my great-aunt and uncle's cabin where we met Grandma and Grandpa D. and had lunch. I had all kinds of fun there. We ate fresh strawberries picked from Donna's garden, I played with a little puppy, sat on a horse and
pretended to drive their Ranger. It was a lot of fun! Mom took a few pictures of me while we were there.I started to get tired out so Mom and I left Dad behind at the cabin so he could go visit great-grandma D. in the hospital with Grandma and
Grandpa D. Mom and I went back to Granny's so I could take a nap. After I rested up we met back up with Daddy and went and celebrated my great-uncle Glen's 50th birthday. We were done yet. After that we headed back to Granny's house and Mom and Dad left to go celebrate Mommy's friend, LeAnne's 30th Birthday. I stayed and played with Granny and then went to bed.
Sunday we got up and wished Daddy a Happy Father's Day. Then we went to my great-grandpa and grandma Jones' house for breakfast with the entire family. There were a lot of people there.
I was having fun witheveryone until I tripped over some shoes and hit my head on the doorway. I'm getting better at walking, but still a little unstable from time to time. I screamed and screamed. Mommy picked me up and I had a big goose egg on my forehead with a purple line going down the middle. Mom had never seen a bump that big on my head before. She was pretty sure I was ok, but knew she needed to hold ice on it - which I HATED! I would have gotten over falling much quicker if she didn't have to hold me tight to keep ice on it. After I calmed down and mom gave up with the ice Daddy took me back to Granny's because I was tired out and needed a nap. Within a couple hours the swelling on my forehead had gone down but the bruise got a little bigger. I was ok though. After lunch we went to visit Grandpa C. We spent some time at his house playing before it was time for another nap. I woke up, had dinner and we hit the road for home. It was a busy weekend, but a lot of fun!
I hope you had a good weekend! Stay cool - it's hot out there!

More words...
Just a couple more "words" I'm saying to add to my list:
key = monkey
dree = drink
Oh, and I got another tooth! I've had 8 for so long but mom found my ninth one, a molar earlier this week. She said it looks like I have 3 others coming in soon.

Weekend with Grandma....
I had a fun weekend! My Grandma D. came to visit and watch me while Mom and Dad got to go spend some time with their friends Friday and Saturday night. We had a lot of fun playing and going for a walk in the stroller. We even let Marlie come along. She likes walks too!
Grandma sure thinks I talk a lot...and I do! They all think I'm just jabbering, but I really am saying something. They should know that by the way I change my expression and fluctuate my voice. I even get my hands going, roll or squint my eyes...it's a real story I tell ya! Grandma said she's never seen a kid talk as much as me. I consider that a compliment. :)
Sunday, Grandma, Mom and I did a little shopping. I was a good boy and got a new pair of tennis shoes for this fall and winter. I can't wait until I can wear them. They are pretty cool and look just like my Daddy's shoes. :)
Today Mom and I are getting back into the swing of things, gearing up for another week and getting ready for our busy weekend next weekend when we go to Harpers.
I hope you had a good weekend, I sure did!

What do I say?
Mom and I were talking about my blog and if we might do something different. We decided that for the most part it will be the same as it has been, but because my baby book only went month by month up to 12 months there are things she and dad will want to remember. So from time to time she's going to have me make short little posts of those things. For example, this is one of those posts.
At this point these are the 'words' I can say.
ullah = hello
buh-bye = bye-bye
da-da = daddy, mommy, other random people :) But definitely knows who da-da is.
daaay-aaay (in a singing voice) = Diego from Go, Diego, Go
monkey sounds 'ooo, ooo aah, aah ah ah'
waas-at (in a whisper voice) = what's that
duh = done
uh-uh = uh-oh
tuh---daaa = touchdown (with both arms up in the air, of course) :)

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy's birthday was Wednesday! We celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa D. and Uncle Brent on Tuesday by going out to dinner. I made the biggest mess you can imagine with my sweet potato. They had to take my pants off before they would even hold me I was so messy. It was fun though! Then, when we got back home we had some birthday dessert mom and had made. I even got to have some and I really liked it! I had chocolate all over! YUM!
Wednesday we went out to lunch with a couple of mom and dad's friends, then just hung out at home that night. I picked out a few presents for daddy. I got him a squirt gun, some of his favorite snacks, a video game, some flip flops and a Shamwow. The Shamwow is a joke, because we would laugh at that guy on t.v. (This is old news, but mom asked me to put it in here just because it's something she doesn't want to forget.) :) When it was mommy's birthday Dad took me to pick out some things for her too. I also got her some of her favorite snacks, Go, Diego, Go stickers, a monkey puppet and a little wall hanging that says something about 'mom'.
Friday Mom and I went to Cedar Falls to visit her friend Katie and meet my new little friend Avery. She is a very pretty little girl and I had fun pushing her around in her Bumbo seat. She was very nice and let me play with some of her toys too.
Our weekend kind of tricked us. We thought it was supposed to rain most of the weekend so Mom and Dad didn't set up my pool. Turned out to be very nice, and perfect splashing weather. Bummer! Hopefully I'll get to swim again soon. I hope you had a nice weekend.
