Bye-bye ba-ba....

Well, guess what Mom did today? Yeah, she packed up all my baby bottles. Well, I guess she left one out so she can use it to measure water when she makes formula for my sippy cup. I mean, they've been working up to this, but today she just up and decided that was it. I had my last bottle last night and I didn't even know it was my last. Does that seem right to you? Oh well. I'm sure I'll survive.

On another note. We've had a couple of fun days. The last two days we went and had lunch with daddy. It's always fun to see him in the middle of the day, AND get to go to a restaurant!

I'll keep you posted on the bottle situation, but I'm thinking there's no hope for getting it back.

Weekend away...

This last weekend Mom and I headed out of town and left Dad and Marlie at home. We went back to her hometown to visit family. It sure was a busy weekend, but it was fun to see everyone.

We arrived Friday afternoon and stopped to see Grandpa C. at work. He was busy so we couldn't stay long. Plus it was a little chilly. From there we went to Granny's house. That's where we stayed. We just hung out there Friday night. Saturday Mom and I went to Grandpa and Grandma C.'s house for awhile. Then, Granny, Mom and I went shopping at Wal-Mart. I love going places and checking everything out. On our way home we stopped at my Great-Grandpa and Grandma J's house. Some of my great-aunts and great-uncles were in town too, so I got to see some of them. Saturday evening Mommy took me to the park across the street from Granny's house and I got to swing.

That was a lot of fun! It was starting to make me sleepy though since it was so close to my bedtime.

Sunday I got up nice and early. Mom started to pack up our stuff while I took a nap. Once we were ready, we headed to Grandpa and Grandma C's for a quick stop before going to visit my great-grandpa and grandma C. We couldn't stay too long because we needed to get going but it was fun to visit them. From there, we hit the road, but Mom knew I'd be getting hungry for lunch so we made another quick stop at my great-grandma and grandpa J's house. Grandma J. had made some breakfast so I had a pancake and toast. Once my belly was full we were back on the road and I was fast asleep over half of the ride home.

Once we got back to our house I was happy to see Daddy and Marlie. I had to check out all of my toys. I missed playing with them. But, it was all the more fun after being gone for a couple days.

Two ones make eleven....

Eleven months! Didn't I just turn 9 months old? The last two months have gone by so, so fast! We are enjoying the warmer weather, but that big birthday of mine is just around the corner. I'm not sure Mom is ready for it. Doesn't bother me any, but she keeps saying it's going to be bitter sweet. She's constantly rambling on and on about it. I think she's trying to convince herself it's all fine, which it is, but I know she's not ready for her baby to turn one year old just yet. Good news is, she has one more month to accept it. Sometimes she gets teary-eyed when she talks about it. Then she starts the rambling and repeating the quote she found somewhere that says, "It kills you to watch them grow, but it would kill you faster if they didn't". She says it's so true, and she just needs to think about how fortunate she and daddy are that they have a healthy, happy, thriving BABY (yes, she still says baby - I think she will for a while yet) boy!

I think it's really cool how much I've grown. I mean I have so much more fun now that I can get in to everything. I'm opening drawers and cupboards, (well I was opening cupboards 'til the 'rents put those safety latches on them - bummer!) climbing stairs, chasing the dog - this is all fun stuff! And, I love going places and I think I'm getting easier to transport. I don't require as much stuff as I used for a simple outing. A diaper, sippy cup, container of munchies and I'm happy!

Well, enough about all that. You want to know what I've been up to and what new things have happened this past month? Well, most recently I got a new tooth. I am now evened out - 4 on top, 4 on the bottom. But, this 4th bottom tooth was a killer. I was a cranky monster for a few days. Mom teased she was going to set me out with a free sign on me. She never would of course, she loves me too much, but I do have to admit, I was a bit unbearable for a short time. But, now that the tooth is through I'm back to my happy, content self - and so is mom. :)

I've been slowly working my way off the bottle and am down to 2 or 3 a day. I guess in this next month we're going to slowly cut back and see how I do. Mom thinks I'd be perfectly fine without my morning or bedtime bottle, but I do really, REALLY like one in the afternoon. That one I might not be so quick to get rid of.

I'm doing well with my sippy of milk at meals. Just recently I have gotten so good at sucking liquid out but I forget to swallow in between and a lot runs out of my mouth. Oh well. :) Mom still hasn't found any food that I don't like. Some take a little longer for me to warm up to, but usually the second time I try them - I'm sold. I did get to have some pizza last week. YUM! I loved it. And this week I tried a bratwurst. That was pretty tasty too.

Sleep schedule - still the same. Two naps, 12-hours at night. I still haven't taken any steps on my own. Mom and Dad are convinced I could walk, I just don't want to. I'll never tell if they're right or wrong. :) My hair continues to grow, slow but sure. Mom says sometimes it looks like it's going to be really blonde, and other times it

looks like it's going to have a reddish tint. I guess that's something we just have to wait on - might be a while yet.

Well, I guess that's all I have to report as an 11-month old. I'll be back around after the weekend. Have a good one!

Little Irishman....

Yup, I'm Irish! Happy St. Patrick's Day! What a gorgeous, fun day it was. Mommy had to work in Cedar Falls today and Grandma D. had the day off so I got to hang out with her. We spent a lot of time outside. We went for a little walk, visited the neighbors and went to the park to swing. I also got to see Uncle Brent and Grandpa D. They came to visit me over lunch. Such a fun day didn't leave a lot of time for a nap so I did that on our drive home. Tonight I'm a little wound up and goofy. Dad thought maybe I got some Mt. Dew today. :) Tonight Mom and I spent a little more time outside. We wanted to soak up all the warm weather we could before it cools off again.

Well, I didn't have corned beef and cabbage for dinner, but I did have a great first St. Patrick's Day!

Gorgeous day....

It was so nice outside today. Mom, Marlie and I went for a nice walk. When we got back I got to play around outside. I haven't really ever been able to do that like I did today. I was crawling around on our patio and in our yard. I crawled, and crawled and crawled. I wasn't sure what to think of the grass at first, but that didn't last long. I figured out it was just fine.

Tonight I had swim class. Once again I had a fun time splishing and splashing. Such a great day wears a little guy out!

Hello...

It's been too long since my last post again so I thought I'd better stop crawling, climbing, squirming, and jabbering long enough to let you know what I've been up to.

Last weekend my Grandpa and Grandma C. came to visit me. We had a lot of fun while they were here. Monday I went to swim class and had more fun than ever splashing and kicking my legs in the water. Yesterday we had people over to our house for my new little friend Emmett's Mommy. There was a baby shower for her and it was at our house. There were some kids here too that I got to play with. It was a fun time.

Today we're just hanging out at home relaxing. Mom said the weather is supposed to get nicer this week so we plan to get outside. I think that sounds like a lot of fun! I'll let you know what our week brings! Enjoy the warmer weather!

Poppin' in....

Just thought I'd give a quick update. There really isn't much new going on in my world. Last night I had my second swim class. I enjoyed it as much as the first. Mom bought me a swim shirt so I wore that last night. It did help keep me a little warmer. I didn't shiver as much as I did the first night.

Today I've been doing a lot of walking around with my push toy. I've decided that I'm pretty big stuff when I do that. I walked from one end of the kitchen to the other with the biggest smile on my face. Yeah...I'm cool!

Last week Uncle Brent came to visit me. I saw him the weekend before when when we celebrated Grandma D's birthday too, but he came to my house this time. His big dog scared me at first, but after I got used to her she was fine and she was really good to me.

Mommy told me I have a new little friend. His name is Emmett. He wasn't supposed to be born until April, but he was really anxious to meet his Mommy and Daddy, so he decided to come last week. Mommy went to visit him and his Mom and Dad at the hospital. She said he's really cute. I won't be able to meet him until his bigger but I bet someday we'll be good playmates! I can't wait!

Well, that's all for now.
